UT Fan Appreciation Day...
I just talked with someone at UT Athletics and they just informed me that the UT Fan Appreciation Day which usually coincides with the end of summer practice for the football team will be on August 22nd. I am guess that it will not coincide this year with practice ending as that would appear to be two weeks later than normal. Not sure the reason other than maybe avoiding the heat, but whether it's the first of August or the last, I would say it shouldn't matter. Anyway, I am off to get my Colt stuff ready for signing! Reply if you plan on attending. Always nice to see friendly faces...

Will players autograph multiple items for you
or is it a one per person type deal? Also, do you know which players will be there?
I suggest you take a Radio Flyer full of UT merchandise with price tags already affixed.

Some advice...
AFHook – I will be easy to spot as I will be in a UT jersey! :) Seriously, from the last three I went to, you can bring two items to be signed by all in attendance. However, I have witnessed some getting individuals like Colt to sign an item just for him instead of one of the team pieces. I would bring a few team things and a few individual things just in case. The earlier you get there the better as they hand out wristbands usually by 7am. All three times we have gotten there no later than 5:30am and have been able to get wristbands with no problem. Bring one of those UT fold-out chairs and you should be fine. This is also a great time to bring out a girlfriend or wife or borrow a kid to bring along so you can double up on the autograph opportunities since it is free and usually takes minimal bribing in return. Texassports.com usually posts a press release in late July to let people know the rules on how the process works. Hook ’em!
Great Advice
So if you get there circa 5:30 am ish, how long are you in line and how long do players stay for autographs?

Timing is everything...
The past times I went you got your wrist band at 7am and then didn’t have to line back up until around 10am. They use to let you watch the last practice between 7-10am, but I think they have gotten away from that or at least they did the last two times. You line up around 10am (in order to your numbered wristband) and then it starts around 1030am or so. You normally get everyone’s autograph, but I have seen some get up for bathroom breaks, etc. I get there early so I can’t really attest to the people 800s-900s in terms of if all the players are there. But I can say I have never been higher than 300s and I have been able to get all of the players in attendance autographs…
I'm getting there early
So I can get my fishing pole signed by Jordan and Colt.
