OU Linebacker Balogun to miss 2009?
This is not meant to be some sort of indictment of OU or accusations of cheating. However, this could be an interesting development in terms of LB depth for OU if he is gone. I know he didn't exactly thrive last season, but it sounds like he was one of their primary backups heading into this season. Plus, if Ryan Reynolds struggles with health, I wonder if they'll start to lean on one of the highly touted freshmen coming in?

I didn’t realize he was 25 years old. Thanks for the link.

He's 25 because it's been an odd long road.
Great article about his story here:

Just realized
It’s a Thayer Evans article. Same guy who wrote the Christmas day recruiting hit piece about Jamarkus “Romancing” McFarland.
Feel free to boycott.

Thanks for posting this story about yet another OU violation issue with the NCAA
I will not pretend. I truly hate OU. Always have—perfect genetics I guess.
The irony of this story is that it appears that OU self-reported this man (25 yo) for further review after relying on him last year for playing time in the NC game against Florida. If that isn’t a fine how-do-you-do-thank-you I don’t know what is. That will teach him to lose.
Stoops’ recent accolades about new LBs Wort and Byrd must be true and he must feel that they have enough depth at LB to kick ole (and I man OLD when I refer to 25 y.o. Balgun) to the curb. Never mind that OU previously assisted this elderly semi-proster to get NCAA clearance before switching their stand and supplying the NCAA with “additional” incriminating evidence of some sort to get him declassified. How nice of you Stoops, you’re a gem of a guy.
My real quesiton:
Why do any serious HS recruits (ie, I’m talking to you Darius White, Jackson Jeffcoat, and Aaron Franklin) compare OU to Texas.
Texas has superior academics in every field, but we also have ethics in the football program.
Texas does not take JC guys (Darius White please meet Cameron Kenny).
Texas does not let convicted criminals play no matter how good they are (D. Granger—was that coat that you stole real leather or synthetic?) So sorry you missed your trial date in Arizona. Glad you got the bond posted.
Texas certainly don’t allow self-confessed violent criminals (Jarboe—no guns in the dorm please—thank you) (Chaisson, put the screwdriver down and step back from your ex-girlfriend) to enroll on campus. I mean, we just are not in the same realm of recruiting ethics.
So, why and how are we constantly in competition with OU for talented H.S. football players?
I just don’t understand it. OU clerely sucks. Guys that want to go there will get exactly what they deserve.

I'm sick of it.
Get of your perch and stop being baffled by why other schools get recruits. Not everybody wants to go to Texas. Not everybody likes Austin as a city, not everybody. Also most football players don’t give a shit about academics. You go to those programs to play football not study and everybody knows. If academics were important Vince Young would be able to sound literate and get higher then a 12 on a wonderlic exam (10 is basic literacy) and no recruit would step within a mile of LSU, Alabama, Auburn etc.
Stop pretending that you guys run the world’s cleanest program and recruit saints. If you did Mack Brown would not have stepped within 5 blocks of that thug Ramonce Taylor’s house.

We don't run the cleanest program.
Just cleaner than OU’s.

You're kidding right?
Texas does not take JC guys (Darius White please meet Cameron Kenny).
First of all, explain why it is wrong to give Juco players the chance to play football at the collegiate Division 1 level??????? Actually, don’t even bother as I’m know your excuse can’t be anything better than garbage.
Second of all, is Texas even much better? Lets see, we had a recent QB and Lineman who wrongfully took money get kicked off the team roughly a month prior to the 06 season. However, no one’s life was put in harms way. Josh Jarboe, whom was given a somewhat second chance by Stoops due to misdemeanor’s in high school gets kicked off the team which I commend for freestyling on youtube (I don’t agree with the content however there is an amendment in the Constitution which allows freedom of speech), but yet no one’s life was put in harms way.
Sergio Kindle gets convicted of a DWI, not a DUI, and then years later wrecks an automobile into an apartment, leaves the scene only to call it in 8 hours later, but yet he’s still a football player? WTF? People’s lives were put at risk my friend. But go ahead, continue on with this UT is a saint BS.

I think Kindle had probably consumed some amount, large or small, before he hit the wall with his car, but as that is just speculation at this point, the fact is that his incident is essentially just like accidentally knocking over a road sign with a car.
