vs. Texas-Arlington……W 87-63 34-1
vs. Mississippi State…W 77-74 35-1
vs. Michigan State…….W 92-74 36-1
vs. Texas……………….W 85-67 37-1
vs. No. 4 UCLA………..W 78-63 38-1
vs. No. 1 Kansas……..L 75-68 38-2
Could you imagine how big this story would’ve been had they just hit their FTs to defeat Kansas and win it all? Guess it was some karmic justice from the basketball gods that they choked at the line.
FWIW, #1 seeded Memphis would’ve been replaced by either us, Duke, Tennessee, or Georgetown.
