Halliburton: Jaxon Shipley Out With Broken Collarbone
Unfortunate luck for Jordan's little brother, the star Brownwood wide receiver poised for a strong junior season. Broken collarbones usually heal within about 12 weeks, putting a tentative return date after the end of the season, meaning he probably wouldn't be ready any time before the playoffs start. It also means he will probably miss the Graham game on October 23 and a chance to face off against the McCoys. Disappointing news for Jaxon and his family, but his injury should heal fully and it should not impact any potential offer from Texas next February.
[Update]: I should probably note that 12 weeks is a pretty conservative estimate -- it is a possibility that Shipley could return by mid or late October.

sucks, I hope they find a better doctor than me, the ER gave me a shitty sling that ended up folding my collar bone up because it didn’t support my arm/shoulder properly. i need to have it broken, shaved down, and set with pins now.
he’ll undoubtedly get better care than i did.

Sheesh, hope so.
And good luck with your own recovery.

where was this ER?
in austin? and plus with that problem you can probably sue for malpractice.
Let's hope
his brother can stay healthy all year.
For sure.
I made sure to include Jaxon’s full name in the title to keep from freaking any one out.

Good grief
Don’t tell me they asked him to run a route at TE.
Hopefully it will heal quickly and wish him the best of luck. And same for you D.L.
I just read that Nick Kasa, the stud true freshman DE at Colorado is also out with an injury., Even Tebow had a back problem and didn’t practice. Seems like a lot of injuries for everyone. Sure hope that this trend slows down and stops for all players.
Not all collarbone breaks are equal
I have no clue to the severity of the break, but I broke my collarbone during my freshman season of football and was able to return in just five weeks. Perhaps Jaxon has a break similar to the one I experienced.

May be a rumor!
In some circles, people are suggesting this is just a rumor. Being really close to Brownwood, I have not heard anything official on news networks yet to confirm.
It is...
because i went to the Brownwood @ Manor game last night, and he sure looked healthy to me, He scored a TD and made a couple of good plays. He doesn’t have a broken collarbone.
