EDSBS LIVE: Four Questions Returns!
Spencer and I continue our stagger towards regular season kickoff with another irregularly scheduled edition of EDSBS LIVE, your favorite amateur cocktail hour/online radio program. As usual, 90 minutes of pure college football talk with the two of us and, as always, your phone calls.
How can you participate? Easy: Read this week's four questions after the jump and then share your own answers, either in the comments here, over at EDSBS, or -- ideally -- live on the air tonight at 9:00 ET / 8:00 CT. We'll post the program details and call-in information here at the end of the day.
FOUR QUESTIONS
1. Who will get the Flamenco Upset of week one? You know, the exotic rhythms of an upset a la Boise State/Oregon 2008, who rematch on the Smurf Turf in week one?
2. What is the Game of Most Importance? For sheer spectacle the answer may be the VT/Alabama game, but the choice for Texas fans is, I'm guessing, an easy one: to Stillwater we go, for the showdown between Georgia and Oklahoma State. So here's a harder question: Who do you root for? My first instinct is to pull for the Pokes, and yet, the more and more I think about it, the more I wonder whether we really want OSU to be undefeated on Halloween night. Be careful what you wish for?
3. Will you stay up for the entirety of the Oregon/Boise State game? And if so, STIMULANT CHECK! Child's play for a sleepless junkie like me: I'm still guzzling coffee well after the dinner hour. Fellow crackheads can join me for an open thread right here next Thursday night.
4. Essential viewing item for in-game viewing? Portable radio. Because there's Texas football, and then there's Texas football with Craig Way.

Fun with answers
1. Can we hope and pray for a New Mexico victory?
2. I’ll likely be rooting for the Pokes (conference pride and whatnot, A&M and OU notwithstanding), but Georgia has one of the cooler unis in CFB. Additional bonus points: Matt Stafford’s ladies and the potential for them to stomp the Gators. Hard to say.
3. I’ve got Friday off for Labor Day, so here’s to yes. And college football.
4. HD. Which I don’t have thanks to free cable. Balls.
photoshopped
Bringing it back for football season.
I’d be thrilled to find one of Megan Fox, but no luck yet.
Not sure your answer for #1
Qualifies as an upset
I just started a Master’s program at UH that does night classes. I thought I was going to miss all football on opening night. I am thankful for Boise vs Oregon!!
If OSU was playing a non-SEC team, I wouldn't know who to root for
I’m tired of all of the SEC people claiming superiority.
Week 1
Disclaimer: I’m an OU fan
1. I’m really hoping for a Baylor win at Wake. I’d also love to see Nevada somehow pull it out in South Bend
2. For me, it’s OU/BYU. Unfortunately, for the sake of our ‘narrative’ a win is probably not good enough for this one. Nationally, it’s Alabama/VT
3. No doubt- 3 cups of coffee at kickoff and a few Blue Moons should do the trick
4. Lucky hat. Although it’s status is being seriously reconsidered after a long trip to Miami.
Baylor at Wake is a big one. I’m really, really pulling for Robert Griffin to have a huge season that includes a bowl run and a 4-0 OOC record (WF, UConn, NWern St., and Kent St.). They’re finally in a position to augment conference credibility, because 4-0 OOC before getting pounded by UT and some other strong division foes would be great for the Big 12.
Oddly, I have no such hopes for OU to contribute to conference credibility. (insert smiley emoticon here)

Tough questions. Are you TAing this semester?
1. Who’s playing Appalachian State?
2. BYU-OU. Until they prove they can TACKLE somebody, Oklahoma State remains hype.
3. Depends on how the late baseball games look that night.
4. Too many possibilities to list ‘em all. Full Sail, Anchor Christmas Ale ’06, Black Butte Porter and St. Arnold’s Brown Ale would be near the top.
answers
1. #16 Oregon returns the favor vs #14 Boise on the road.
2. OSU/UGA. Regardless of whether they win or lose, the outcome will tell us a lot about our future opponent. OSU doesn’t have to tackle to win this game, they just have to score. Personally, I think OSU wins big.
3. Doubtful, I’d rather play an early tee time.
4. HD, beer, and burgers or hotdogs. Throw in my dog passed out on the other couch and we’ve got a perfect Saturday afternoon.
I haven't stopped laughing since last on-air disaster
Very funny show and commentary
1. Does Florida not covering the 73 point line against Charleston Southern count as an upset?
2. OSU/UGA. Here’s hoping the Big XII can man up to the SEC. Glad it is in Stillwater.
3. Yes, thank you Rebull
4. Vodka Redbull
