Sexy Dexy poised to break out
I would have said his Junior season was the breakout season, but heck I'll be happy if he takes his game to another level this year.
"During his few years in Austin, Dexter Pittman has lost a lot of weight but gained a lot of game. Pittman enrolled at Texas out of shape and overweight. Pittman obviously didn't play much. But before last season, he took the initiative to lose weight and improve his conditioning.
Pittman's minutes increased, and he flourished in the Longhorns' frontcourt. The senior forward only played 16 minutes per game as a junior, but a further increase this year, combined with an improvement in his game, means his scoring average of 10 points per game will increase dramatically as well."

Defense and minutes
I think we are going to have much more scoring this year. And if Dex’s conditioning dictates and increse in minutes, then he will no doubt jump in numbers. I hope his defense jumps to another level. If those two things happen, then the sky is the limit for both Dex and Texas this year.
We all love football season, and I am always ready for Eddie and the gang to start swimming (and I know that is just me) but I can’t remember ever being this excited for B-Ball to start.

Dexy lost weight!?!?
Wow. In all seriousness however, thank you patienhornsfan for peppering in some “non-football UT sports news” in football season. I appreciate it! I’m really excited for UT sports this academic year. The possibility of 4 National Championships is likely.
Get off your knees Greg, you're blowin' the game.

let me see...
Football, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball are the most likely contenders. I’m guessing he’s not including swimming (men’s and women’s), or track and field.

I would agree with all of those...
… except track & field. Both mens’ and womens’ teams are having a bit of a slump, and will struggle to make the top 10, much less contend for a championship.
Both mens and womens’ swimming should start out the season at either #1 or #2 in the polls given the athletes they have coming back and the talent in both incoming classes.
Also don’t forget mens’ tennis, which has been as high as #2 the past two seasons.
Just makes the struggles in softball, soccer and even womens’ basketball stand out even more. WBB in particular needs to really step it up this year, given the expectations we all had when Coach G was hired.
Still a Blaine Irby fan
