ESPNU 150--2010 out today

Florida absolutely dominated this list. Texas has a good stack of players in the bottom 3/4's of the list

I'm quite sure that GoBR will do something on this in the very near future and of course more in depth than I, but in this bleak off-season of poor recruiting news since March, I felt obligated to share what ESPNU graciously gave us.

First of all, as read in the link above: Florida dominated the 1st version of ESPNU 150 by getting commitments from 6 of the top 30 recruits.  Texas has a few recruits on the list as well, probably second most behind UF in terms of quality. Of course this is the 1st list and these kids have a LONG way to go, but this is a good indication of how the "experts...ahem" ranked the best in the nation.

Texas commits:

Taylor Bible-DT-#14

Ashton Dorsey-DT-#44

Aaron Benson-OLB-#51

Chris Jones-WR-#73

Reggie Wilson-DE-#100

Adrian White-DB-#104

Tevin Jackson-OLB-#105

Carrington Byndom-DB-#121

Adrian Phillips-ATH-#128

Trey Hopkins-OG-#141

-10 Commits in the top 150, but only 2 in the top 50. Not too bad, but lets keep one thing in mind. We're still after alot of other players and if we get those, we could easily rival Florida for best class this year...depending on these kids' senior season of course. We only had 9 in the Final 150 last year with the arguably best commit (Alex Okafor) ranked only #149. So rankings are somewhat arbitrary.

Key recuits worth keeping an eye on:

Jackson Jeffcoat DE #1

Jordan Hicks LB #2

Darius White #8

Lache Seastrunk #20 (not even 5 star...only 5th best RB)

OU has 4 in top 150, but like us, they are in position to get more top end talent by February. The Aggies pick up 3 in the list in Nelson, Matthews, and Joeckle which should give them an honest top 25 class.  Florida has 9, but they are ALL in the top 75. Nice.

Are there any other guys we expect to see crack the top 150 this year? Regardless of rankings we still have a top 5 class.

Also, here's Tim Griffin's take on the list.
