PrintOh my... football season has arrived!
Thought I'd make a thread on BON. Not only to discuss the game, but VY is expected to get plenty of reps in this game, so it'll be interesting to see if he's fully healthy and how well he runs and throws. If anything, it'll be refreshing to see him playing on a football field, rather than in articles and interviews. It's nice to see him play instead of talk. Let the HOF career begin!
Titans will be wearing the old Houston Oilers uniform. This will be interesting, and awkward... considering the way Bud Adams took his Oilers away from the Houstonians.

i only saw a little bit...
..but a couple of times, the receivers and him seemed a bit off cue, but that touchdown was nice; he pump faked and hit Williams in stride at the back of the endzone

It's a first game for everyone
VY, his o-line, and receivers. Overall I’d give him a D+ or C- FWIW, but there’s no point judging the very first game. His one TD drive started from the Bills 35 due to a muffed punt return. Before that it was an INT and 3 and outs.
Meh. What’s key is if we can see progress from this first game to the final preseason game.

I understsand this is the first preseason game..but time is definitely not on his side
he needs to show that he should be the starter and stir up some controversy.
I think in order to live up to everything he said in the offseason(and still now!), every snap, every practice, every preseason game counts for VY.
For VY, its time to swim or sink.

I have to say that I admire your support for Vince Young. You guys almost want to will him to succeed. You guys just don’t want to come face to face with that he is not a good NFL quarterback. Its sad yet its admiring in a way. The excuses for his lousy performances are epic. Its the first preseason game, he doesn’t have any weapons, etc. Why did Kerry Collins and Patrick Ramsey look better? Come on guys, your fan base is smarter than that. I know you want him to do well, but he is just not good enough to succeed in the NFL. Just face the facts.
Vince yesterday was the closest you will ever get into the Hall of Fame.

Lots of QBs start slow and VY is struggling with a system that does not suit him. We have seen what he can do and are not about to give up on him.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. If they get mad, you're a mile away AND you have their shoes.

I don't care
I new they weren’t going to make in the NFL. I don’t care. They were good college quarterbacks and while I wanted them to make it I’m realistic enough to know they are not good enough to play in the NFL and neither is Vince Young. I would take Vince in a heartbeat to be the quarterback on my high school and college team, but no way for him to be the quarterback for my NFL team.
