Awesomely appropriate graphic.
My lips are sealed. (and now that song is stuck in my head)
I am following the game on gamecast
whats the deal? the stats look good. We outgained them 237-99 and out F’Ded them 11-6. Have we just been really sloppy?
Yep
And we gave them all 10 points on special teams breakdowns
by Hopkins Horn on Sep 12, 2009 4:13 PM CDT up reply actions
Special Teams
Blocked punt for TD. Fake punt on our 10, didnt work out. short field…field goal. =10 pts
Get off your knees Greg, you're blowin' the game.
McCoy is overthrowing the ball and our receivers
can’t catch today. Very Vanilla play calling
by Longhorn in MO on Sep 12, 2009 4:14 PM CDT up reply actions
mistakes at the worst possible times
bad turnovers, ineffective running game
Well, special teams is the obvious answer
But the offense hasn’t been anything but hit and miss. Really, one great drive before halftime. McCoy has made some terrible throws — the stuff we didn’t know he had in him. Rushing game the usual more so-so that special. Line getting outplayed badly most of the way.
Defense really stepped up. Houston. Thomas. Robinson.
And, thankfully, it’s 30 minutes, not 60.
wtaching the game
they didn’t say he did it on his own, until Mack Brown said it at half time. He better be benched for a very long time
by Longhorn in MO on Sep 12, 2009 4:15 PM CDT up reply actions
Do you think that he is coached to do that?
I would think that one of the benefits of the rugby kick is that you potentially could just turn the corner. Obviously it was a stupid decision, but I doubt that a normal punter would even be put in that position.
If you're so sure of what it ain't, how about telling us what it am!
I think the offense will be ok now
But the inability to get a 1st down on 3rd and 2 just tells me to forget the running game.
Relax
Texas will step it up and win this one decisively.
We've been saying that all through the 1st half
and it hasn’t happened at all.
If you're so sure of what it ain't, how about telling us what it am!
More coachspeak than usual
Wyoming playing great, great environment, just gotta be Texas, go out there and have fun, etc. Classic.
--AW--
how many Mack Claps are we at now?
I caught 2 of them.
Get off your knees Greg, you're blowin' the game.
So if it wasn't for our punting unit it would be 13-0
awesome
If you're so sure of what it ain't, how about telling us what it am!
Bright Side
At least our defense has gone into shut down mode.
So Holtz’s national champion stepped up? Good to know…
by dimecoverage on Sep 12, 2009 4:21 PM CDT up reply actions
UH!
We are just sloppy. And many of the posts are right, we are VERY vanilla with our playcalling. Defense is keeping us in this game. Greg Davis seems to always do this when we’re on the road, he plays not to lose until we can’t afford to not play like that anymore (I.E. Texas Tech ‘08, Oklahoma ’08) He just needs to realize we’re better than this team and take advantage of our talent. Hook ’Em Horns!!
"Stats are for losers. I like winning games."

Millie Vanilla offense
Too true.
I think they thought that would be sufficient and only came out
of it when we had to move down the field quickly before halftime.
I disagree with that.
He’s played poorly and the pick sucked. I don’t remember one half from last year where he looked this out of sync—not even Tech. Let’s remember that this is Wyoming.
He just looks off. He looked off before the game.
I wonder if that Cowboys fan actually did his sabotage he posted about.

True but, I am blaming it on GD for right now
by Longhorn in MO on Sep 12, 2009 4:21 PM CDT up reply actions
I counted two bad decisions
and a few passes off the mark. He just looks less like Colt. He’ll be back in the second half.
I think a lot of it is playcalling
shotgun = pass, under center = run, it isn’t hard to coach against that
If you're so sure of what it ain't, how about telling us what it am!
I bet Mack had a heart attack kicking their asses at the half
by Jrusso72 on Sep 12, 2009 4:21 PM CDT via mobile reply actions
Looking at this thing glass-half-full
There’s time to do something about it. This isn’t Ohio State’s defense or Tech’s offense. And if you gotta stink it up — better a non-BCS team than somebody in the Big 12. Most of the people who rank teams will never see this first half; a solid second half rights the ship.
He said, hopefully.
That's what I said in the last thread
We had this kind of game against Tech and it cost us. Better to do this now than against OSU in Stillwater. Of course, that assumes we win this game.

To GD: Please proceed with dink and dunk….they are giving us too much space…oh and go chew out OLs
COACH BOOM BABY!!
saw this coming in my post yesterday
Why should the result be a surprise – it is set up just like hte ucf game (which I attended). there is no way we can match their emotion in ht egame. You add in our idiocracy (special team and penalties) then here is where we sit. Colt needs to man up and start friggin running to lossen up the zone defense and then let it fly to Malcolm deep. Focus guys this will not be pleasnat but we can do this. Anyone who predicted 50+ point victory is delusional and not thinking clearyly. We will be lucky to get the win and if it is double digits I will be shocked.

Run
We cannot have a running back run it, but we will have our start QB run it up the middle. If he gets hirt, then I can go to the run because we will have to start a freshman and I do not want to burden him with to much. Hope it does not happen, but that will be the excuse. JUST START RUNNING THE BALL!!!!!

Get off your knees Greg, you're blowin' the game.
Especially if USC wins and BYU goes undefeated.

An undefeated BYU CANNOT pass an undefeated Texas

If the voters feel that the MW has been screwed enough. they sure could

And you think the voters
dont think UT was screwed enough last year? BYU beat OU, which was injury depleted. While I hate to use that as an excuse, Voters will…
Get off your knees Greg, you're blowin' the game.
UH cannot run the ball...3rd and 10 to pretty much ice it.

OSU done
Robinson through a bad pick. Game.

Well...
I guess I should change my articles to the “State of Missouri.” Just kidding.

So if the "Big XII is bad" narrative forrms . . .
. . . what conference is stepping up to take our place? Pac 10? Big 10?
Not yet
Down the line. If USC wins tonight but Cal knocks off Trojans, then things could get interesting at the end. Penn State has a joke of a schedule. Gets Ohio State at home.
We both know this, we need to win them all. One loss dooms us.

Not over rated
Did OSU beat a SEC team last week??? So waht does that say about the SEC being weak if the team that beat a SEC team looses to a Conefrence USA team?
SEC Strength
Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and LSU. Georgia is not in the same category this season.
--AW--
"the Pac10" IS USC
so they would get the nod
hey, I hate ou as much as the next UT fan
But bradford going down is a good excuse
Play like you mean it...
it is an excuse…not a good one…Zero U should have someone to step in if they were that good, but they do not. That shows alot about the staff, to not have someone being ready to take over. Maybe that he why he came back, because no one was ready to step in and take the job. Wonder how much Zero U payed him to get him to stay????
Guys...
I don’t think it’s really that serious. Not like there is another conference that is that much better besides SEC.

Besides...
USC will lose to oregon state or someone they have no business losing too.. thats kind of what they do.

The Big 12 had a good week last week
Other than OU’s flop. Despite our dominance in the second half, you know the media will want to focus on that first half’s crappy performance. Then add OSU’s choke.

So, PB, question
Are you saying that Texas was being projected in the preseason to go the the championship game based not their own strength but on the strength of the other 11 teams in the conference?
That's part of it
SOS is part of the formula and part of what voters take into account. You can’t ignore that.
by TheElusiveShadow on Sep 12, 2009 6:02 PM CDT up reply actions
Of course it can't be ignored . . .
. . . but I just don’t buy the fact that Texas will be punished for the sins of the rest of the conference, particularly when the Pac 10 isn’t as strong.
I’d be much more concerned about this if USC were the #1 team and Florida the #3 team.
by Hopkins Horn on Sep 12, 2009 6:05 PM CDT up reply actions
Another way of looking at this . . .
Were any of us really thinking that USC’s chances were severely harmed while we watched Oregon lay an egg at Boise?
by Hopkins Horn on Sep 12, 2009 6:02 PM CDT up reply actions
how many players have had consecutive 350 yd games? just curious?
is there a stat for that?
If You See Kay, Oh You
we have to root for Ohio state tonite...
the big 10 is doing badly too with Michigan state being upset by C Michigan today.
osu lost 45-35
so I guess they’ll be in the MNC game?
TD MICH
with 12 sec left…
Suck it ND, Lou Holtz and the Fighting Irish loving media

As you know,
Lou can always find another argument that in the end of the regular season, everyone will be a one loss team….
