JJ coming to town
Jackson Jeffcoat will be in attendance Saturday night...good news? I'd say so. This is his first visit with USC and OU being the other frontrunners for the #1 prospect in the nation according to ESPN recruiting. This guy is sick. I think his reasoning to visit Texas first is trifold:
1) Texas is 2-0; OU is 1-1
2) Primetime game w/ gameday there
3) That gameday commercial is freakin awesome. Mack just got mad props for that.
I like our secondary, I like the 2nd half of the Wyoming game, I like the game being in Austin, I like the true playmakers emerging from the hyped ...texas 45 tech 14

S'pose it's within the rules
to provide JJ with a jersey with No. 98 (Orakpo’s number) on it, and let him stand on the sidelines close — but not too close — to Will Muschamp?
I really hope seeing okafor playing as a true freshman helps make him lean texas.

45-14 is wildly optimistic.
I would guess close to 45-35 (really).
The swine flu takes a Will Muschamp shot every September.

It could go either way
If the horns show up the way we all think they should…playing with revenge on the mind in front of a rabid crowd…it’s going to be 30+ pt differential
Watching the wyoming game, it harkened back to the tech game last year. Crowd (albeit a small one) going nuts, and the opposing players playing out of their gourds with it being the most important game to their respective school in the history of football at said school.
Potts is OK and they still have detron lewis but its not the same team, not the same LEVEL of intensity and adrenaline on their part
45-14 horns

Lewis may be out for the game
Hamstring injury I believe. One of their best DL, Henley, may be out as well.
The problem with Tech is that they can score so easily and so fast
So it’ll be close. A 10-point win is good for me. More, better. But I’ll take a win.
In-VINCE-able.
whispers
Supposedly OU is out of the running for Jeffcoat. Can’t remember where I heard this but I think the OU staff breaking some minor recruiting rule turned off the Jeffcoat family and they shut OU down. I think its supposed to be a 2 horse race with USC.
that bodes well for UT
Didn’t Ken Norton Jr play with JJ’s dad in Dallas? Still, I like our chances to land this stud…always tough competing with USC sunshine and song girls and pete carroll is the man

OU staff breaking some minor recruiting rule?
Bite your tongue. Say it ain’t so, Joe.
I must have read that wrong.
(Oh. MINOR. That’s what threw me off track. MINOR. Minor. minor.)
JJ Baby!!!
That’s awesome that he is coming to town!!! What about Univ. of Houston where his daddy works??!?!?!? Has anybody heard how Jordin Hicks enjoyed that loss in the Shoe last weekend?!?!! It’s looking good for these last two targets!!!!!! Oh ya also Darius White(three)

What do you know about Darius that I don't?
I haven’t seen anything on him lately. Is there more recent info that indicates a better position for us in his recruitment? If we did end up with these 3, that would be a nasty, nasty class.
not really NEW news
but it sounds like OU has a slight edge over us for darius white…the way the season plays out might alter things but his HS buddy favors already committed to OU

JJ Baby
GH,
I don’t know any new info on Darius!! Just wishful thinking??!?!? If we get Hicks and JJ to round out our 2010 recruiting class we will look great!!!!

"You'd be a lot cooler if you did."
Oh well. The good thing is tOSU is always over-rated and is in a pretty average conference so that could bode well with Hicks. The bad thing is, even as average as tOSU is, their defense is usually pretty stout. Especially with their LB’s.
Sure looked great against Navy.
That stout defense needs to figure out what a triple option is.

One expects a usually stout defense to look stout against Navy,
But I get your point!

UH has a bye week this week
So you’d think Jim Jeffcoat would be coming with him. If so, that would be pretty big as it would likely be the only gameday recruiting trip he was able to make with Jackson this year.
Also, UH plays Tech next week so a good chance for Jim Jeffcoat to do a little scouting.
Daddy Jeffcoat
is indeed coming to town, which I think is great news for the Longhorns. You can bet that Muschamp will take some time with him after the game to talk with Jeffcoat about Tech and how he plans to use Jackson if he comes to Texas. Or at least he better. If Muschamp just wants to go review the film of the game, that would be a concern to me because Texas needs him to step it up as a recruiter and become the closer on the defensive side of the ball.
Regardless, this is a great chance for Texas fans to show Jeffcoat how loud DKR can get, as well as the rest of the country. Time to do it up big.

Jim Jeffcoat--keeps up the good job at UH
Could be the next Texas DC when Muschamp moves to HC. ?? Just wondering aloud here—no inside info. But, let’s hope that Muschamp and Coach Jeffcoat hit it off.
GoBR, who's our big closer outside of Mack Brown?....
One would think that Mack Brown has his assistants trained, but I hear about LSU and other SEC schools hiring these big-time closers to help in recruiting.
I know Mack’s the best, but shouldn’t he have somebody in his wing he’s teaching this skill to or hire somebody else to help him out in this area?….Just wondering…

And PROPS to UH
Their defense hung in there for them at the end of the game! I hate to see Big XII teams lose in order to help our strenght of schedule, but I was pulling for UH and they really stepped up when they needed to. Let’s hope Muschamp also gets some open opportunities to get feedback on how to beat OSU at Stillwater. Not to get ahead of ourselves, but would be nice if they build a good line of communication.
