Gameday!

Let’s get ready to rumble!

by cj43 on Sep 19, 2009 11:11 AM CDT reply actions

Good lord...

I should have stuck with my initial score for the Cal-Minnesota game (49-17).

Already 14-0 just 8 minutes in…

by HornPossessed on Sep 19, 2009 11:22 AM CDT reply actions

Your Crazy

Florida is going to make Kiffin wish he wouldn’t of opened his big mouth.

by cj43 on Sep 19, 2009 11:52 AM CDT up reply actions

By 30 points?

I think Florida might be riding some hype. Sure, they’ll win, but 30 points is a lot to beat a team by.

by notsofst on Sep 19, 2009 12:05 PM CDT up reply actions

We'll See

Urban Meyer has been known to run up the score on people that flap their mouth. I don’t think this will be any different. Plus, I think Florida’s 3rd team is has good as Tennessee’s first team. It’s all going to be dependent on if Meyer wants to embarrass Kiffin or not.

by cj43 on Sep 19, 2009 12:10 PM CDT up reply actions

Wow...

And to think I started sort of liking Versus after the Wyoming game.

I hope that Third Guy has a good amount of self-esteem.

by HornPossessed on Sep 19, 2009 11:54 AM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, Glenn Parker (among my favorite Chiefs for quite a while) was actually a nice surprise as an announcer, and the network has good picture with good sound. I think they’re on the rise, but man, that’s an amateur mistake.

by burntorangehorn on Sep 19, 2009 3:07 PM CDT up reply actions

It's a long way away

but Cal and Minn could make for an interesting back to back in 2015-2016

by rchorns on Sep 19, 2009 12:59 PM CDT reply actions

Should help the Strength of Schedule

and allow us to have a chance at making it to a championship game with one loss assuming there aren’t 2 undefeated teams.

by cj43 on Sep 19, 2009 1:01 PM CDT up reply actions

agreed

the way college schedules so far out makes it all such a crapshoot. Think about if Minn and Cal are up, say top 20, and the Big 12 is up also, with us playing the best from the north. That could translate to 7-8 top 25 teams.

by rchorns on Sep 19, 2009 1:05 PM CDT up reply actions

Minnesota's stadium is beautiful.

Guess I’ll have to make it to that game.

Tim Brewster with the trick play! He’s doing wonders for that team.

Ever since he made the following bone headed play against Oregon State in 2007, I knew he wasn’t going to amount to anything:

Florida going for it on 4th and 2 from the Tennessee 20

You tell me that doesn’t mean they are going to run up the score and take Kiffin’s head off.

The day looks promising to start with.

Tenn. playing Florida tough (for now) and Tulsa at least not getting blown away against OU (for now). If only they could both pull the upsets…

The defense isn’t showing up too badly so far. I think they’ll be able to rattle Jacory’s cage; the real question is whether that line can keep Miami from rattling Landry’s.

by burntorangehorn on Sep 19, 2009 3:18 PM CDT reply actions

Yeah...

If Tulsa had any semblance of a run D, the score would still be 0-0.

Is there any coach that gambles as much on 4th down as Pete Carroll?

And with the exception of that national title game against Texas it almost always comes up “7” for him

Nope. He goes for the knockout

He won’t lose a game because of being too conservative like some teams (cough, Tressel)..

Predictions?

Most likely to go down at the 2:30 time slot.

A. USC (up 10-7 right now)
B. Oklahoma (Winning 10-0 right now)
C. Florida (winning 10-3 right now)
D. UTAH (losing 14-7 to Oregon right now)
E. They will all win.

Heartbreaking loss for Nebraska

after being stellar on defense all day. Would’ve been a huge win for the Big 12, and it would’ve helped our SOS if we played NU in the Big 12 championship game.

So long as we run the table . . .

. . . I don’t think we need to worry about how Big XII OOC losses affect our SOS anymore.

Pulling for MSU over ND.

less than 4 minutes left and ND has the ball

Explain to me how USC's offense was any different today than last week.

They better not say they lost because of no Matt Barkley. I will throw babies at my TV.

What happened?

They didn’t cut to the shot of a confused Pete Carroll after his team has wet the bed against another unranked opponent.

God i want ND to lose so bad...

just to see Lou Holtz get needled by the other two guys on ESPN. Everytime they brought up MSU’s dominance over ND at ND the poor guy almost has a stroke.

In-VINCE-able.

Ahhhh!!!!!

Horrible throw by the MSU QB. Should’ve been an easy TD.

oh well.

If You See Kay, Oh You

by texfan23 on Sep 19, 2009 6:09 PM CDT reply actions

Oh wow... MSU calls timeout

even if they got a TD, it wouldn’t have counted

by goingforthecorner on Sep 19, 2009 6:09 PM CDT reply actions

that's ok

this just allows MSU to bleed more time off the clock

Exactly

wasn’t like they needed a TD to tie the game. Gotta be conservative in that drive. Just needed a FG.

see, that's why he was sharing time with the other qb at msu.

as the saying goes, if you have two qbs, you don’t have one good one.

oh and no way does Rice beat the Pokes

not possible. OU, KU, MiZZOU, CU have already won. Toss in an impressive UT showing and an OSU win and the Big 12 will be fine. We have a chance, now to really solidify our #2 spot in the polls and possible gain some ground on Florida.

i agree that big 12 is fine, but haters… you know.

It's Game Time!

Beer poured. pillows in place. Big Screen with HD. Time for the hype and the requisite replay of the crabtree catch.

Let’s go Horns. It’s pay back time
