Maybe this is why we shouldn’t play massive conference games so early in the season. That’s something of a cop-out, because VY beat OSU in 2005 on the road, but these teams know each other very well, but haven’t quite found their offensive footing this year.

But I think Newton may be the answer to the running game. He does two critical things: always falls forward, as Musberger pointed out, and he has the inate sense of when to cut — to cut before the block has been made but as he sees it setting up. That turns Vondrell’s 3-yard gains into 6 or 7.

This was a hell of a hard-fought game.
This will do the Horns good in the long run, but, damn, I couldn’t believe Tech’s defense. Or that we didn’t apply pressure on the last couple Tech drives.
Good thing the game wasn't in Lubbock
I have a hard time seeing us getting the calls we got and winning if the game was in Lubbock playing like this.
