Big story regarding Collins
Just read at Orangebloods that Brandon Collins is to be redshirted.
That, in a word, sucks...

just nitpicking a little but...
…it acatually said Texas appears to be ready to reshirt him,,,,,,Since this is the same guy whose sources had the pecking order of the academic appeal success probabilties completely wrong, I am gonna wait and see.

It actually . . .
is not much of a story if all it says is that Texas appears ready to redshirt him. That just states the obvious. There is no deadline for declaring a player will redshirt nor is there anything the school has to file with the NCAA. A player either plays or doesn’t and has five years to complete four years of eligibility.
Maybe they mean the staff may choose not to play Collins even if his appeal is succesful but comes deeper into the season. They may simply decide it is better for the team to have him for a full season next year rather than burn a year of eligibility to play 2/3 of this one. Given OB’s track record on this situation, I wouldn’t take this as a scoop that Collins’ appeal is about to be denied. There is a 50/50 chance that will happen.
