Massive Showdown Looming
"We have not beaten Nebraska at their place since 1988, but it is always a fun match. It is a fun environment. I love playing at Nebraska. We play at Colorado first, and hopefully after that we will have some momentum going into Nebraska." - Ashley Engle
No doubt about it, this is the Gazelles' season-defining moment on Saturday afternoon in Lincoln. Unfortunately this match won't be televised, but the return match at Gregory on Halloween will be.
Win this one on the Huskers' home court and the Gazelles are in the driver's seat for the conference championship and a #1 seed. Not forgetting that the Gazelles have to take care of business in Boulder tonight, which is never a sure thing.

Total demolition in Boulder
The Gazelles out-blocked the Buffs 13.0-to-1.0 and out-hit them .424-to-.049. Final tally: 25-14, 25-18, 25-8, in a match that took barely over an hour. This team is on a roll heading into Lincoln.

Stunner
The Huskers lost to aTm in College Station last night. This is clearly not your father’s Nebraska Volleyball.
The Gazelles are now the clear favorite for the Big XII title.

i read the link..
…had a question. Is A&M any good? I realize they are 9-1 in conf. play, have they played any besides Nebraska?
Btw, totally looks like we can take Nebraska down in their home-court.

Aggies haven't been good for several years now
But they were the 2nd or 3rd team (behind Nebraska) for a couple of years earlier this decade, and regularly beat Texas when Jerritt first arrived. aTm has not played anyone of note other than Nebraska so far, so I’ll reserve judgement until after they play at Missouri this weekend and the Gazelles at Gregory next week.

Every inch matters
Common logic says that every inch a player gets over the net is a foot of court she takes away, and the Longhorns never have a player shorter than 6-foot-1 in the front row.
The Gazelles lead the nation in blocking.
