WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
Oregon-Boise should be the prime time game. Really, is anyone excited about NC St vs. South Carolina? Oh wait, it’s football. Go Wolfpack!
I've watched/listened to that second video four times now
The forlorn Sooners fans are so pretty. And the radio man’s commentary at the end about out-coaching “the $4 million dollar man” is pure delight.
You ain't hurt.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS BACK!!!
"Football's so important in Texas. On the West Coast, it's a social. On the East Coast, it's a culture. Here, it's a religion."

Quarter Back Selling IT
Watching these awesome plays just show how important it is for the QB to sell the fakes. If you watch Peyton Manning, he is so great at concealing a play too. Great stuff.
Jesus.
That took some balls to go for two. Hot effing stuff BSU.

I thought it was one of the smartest gambles I've ever seen.
You got the big dog down, just put him away. Boise State didn’t have anything to lose and the whole world to gain.
I think I yelled about as loud as have for any Texas game when they did that, saying, “Bob stoops, you smart ass sonofabitch, you just got your face rubbed in it.” Stoops got out-Stooped on those sequences.
A great way to end a season and a fine way to start one tonight. l
I have a feeling Oregon might win this one...
but aforementioned game has earned BSU my undying support. (although I think we can all appreciate the screwjob Oregon gave to the sooners a few years back). Good luck out there on the smurf turf tonight, Broncos.
I love watching highlights of that game
Probably my favorite non-Longhorn game I have seen.
The only thing that irks me is how people (sooner fans especially) say that BSU’s trickery was the only reason they won the game. Obviously, it had a big part, but they forget how much they dominated much of that game. Even in the highlights it shows BSU go up by 18 with 8 min. left in the 3rd.
I listened to this game with my dad driving back from Colorado to Houston
Trying to listen to the end of that game/overtime while the signal kept getting lost was madening.
tonight
This is like getting up on Christmas morning and your Mom telling you that your present’s won’t be in for two more days.
"Will Rogers never met Barry Switzer."
Great description
I have been switching between games trying to find one that I’m actually interested in…..but at least we know it is in transit and almost here.
Intro song
The Kenny Chesney song is worse the “Coming to your city”
"Will Rogers never met Barry Switzer."
Gameday Song
Will it be the usual “Coming to your city”? I’ve grown to like that song out of habit, and don’t really want it to change.
Worst Pregame Song Yet
I dont know if it is just me, but that just isnt something that pumps me up for the game. I love when a song gets me going, that just doesnt do it for me…
I am a very happy dad right now
It’s my first opportunity to watch a football game with my six-week-old son, and he is completely and totally keeping his eyes on the HD screen. A very good sign for the months and years to come.

Wow, thanks for sharing that moment.
Serioulsy, Colts dad may have done the same thing with his son? Hook ’em.
It has begun!
So glad to know that college football is on right now, going to turn on the tube for the first time since the UT-LSU baseball game.
NC ST vs. South Carolina...
wow these are two bad, bad football teams.

Makes me appreciate Colt!
SEC football may have speed, but what they lack is QBs that can make good decisions…
by pleaseplaykindle on Sep 3, 2009 7:59 PM CDT up reply actions
SECOND speed
I’ve been watching for about 2 minutes of game time and they’ve already talked about that SEC speed on defense twice.

Because I’ve seen South Carolina play football.

Game Day
Do you think we can get Texas to play the OU vs. BYU game during our game on the big screen???? I want to watch both games.
ACC country song is worse than the Chesney song
Are people outside ACC country getting that comercial?
by Texas Wahoo on Sep 3, 2009 7:35 PM CDT via mobile reply actions
I got that.
Did they say “Can’t stop ACC football”?
Erm, because, its happening – like right now.

I'm excited football is back and everything...
…but this SC-NC State game is just painful to watch.
I can’t wait for the real season to begin tonight with Boise St.-Oregon.
It's the SEC speed
Their athletes are so big and fast that you can’t see the amazing things they’re doing.
by Texas Wahoo on Sep 3, 2009 8:06 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions
It must be.
At times it looks like NC State is the only team on the field, surrounded by blurs.
by HornPossessed on Sep 3, 2009 8:11 PM CDT up reply actions
Beat Carolina
Seems like a dumb phrase for NC State to put on all their shirts for this game. I say we get “Beat Oklahoma” shirts for the game against Oklahoma State.
by Texas Wahoo on Sep 3, 2009 8:00 PM CDT via mobile reply actions
What did you guys think of the Inner Tebow segment at halftime?
I paused my DVR, threw up, and then cherished the fact Gresham will miss some games.
Great show of SEC offense
It’s like Spurrier is behind the times now.
Wait, I forgot. SEC offenses are actually really good. It’s just that NC State has a super fast, super strong defense.
by TheElusiveShadow on Sep 3, 2009 8:34 PM CDT reply actions
I'll give them props
they play a turkey gobble sound over the loud system when they score touchdowns at home.
anybody
believe they should maybe consider going for it?
Nah.
They had all three of their timeouts, and South Carolina hasn’t exactly marched up and down the field.
by TheElusiveShadow on Sep 3, 2009 8:40 PM CDT up reply actions
I understand
that viewpoint, my only counter point is that they’re obviously not lighting the world on fire on offense either, that deep, and their d playing well. It was possible…
Did anyone else
see those horrible Oregon jerseys? HAHAHA!!!
The "Big Bang" was actually a Will Muschamp chestbump......with the Earth!
VY playing well tonight against the Packers
7-12 for 85 yds, 1 TD passing, 5 car, 38 yds, 1 TD rushing.
Just fyi.
Game is on NFL network, right?
So sad.
by TheElusiveShadow on Sep 3, 2009 8:47 PM CDT up reply actions
I think we should all boycott the nfl network
wait….nevermind
by future_longhorn_dad on Sep 3, 2009 11:12 PM CDT up reply actions
So...
That wasn’t blatant or anything. As the Big 12 officials are blind to the holding call, I guess SEC officials don’t know the technicalities of the facemask penalty.
by TheElusiveShadow on Sep 3, 2009 8:46 PM CDT reply actions
Those kind of dropped balls
It’s because SEC defenses are so great. It makes other teams have butter fingers.

he needed
some stick’em like hot hands from lil giants
Great line just came on King of the Hill.
“Just a kids calf scramble. Animals running around without any plays or game plans or anything. Like Barry Switzer was coaching them.” Switched because the Garcia love was getting a bit much.
Did the Oregon uniforms actually get even worse than previous years?
The wings on the shoulder pads are just a wee bit over the top.
What am I saying? This IS Oregon; nothing is over the top.
was just thinking...
’wow, what an offense to watch" after the SC crap. Then they fumble three times in three plays.
Makes me appreciate
the traditional jerseys we wear. The Boise jerseys double as reflective running shirts during low light hours and the Oregon jerseys look like something out of the XFL…
The "Big Bang" was actually a Will Muschamp chestbump......with the Earth!
Well
SC and NC State couldn’t score because their offenses played mostly crappy. Boise State can’t score because their kicker’s nerves are getting the best of him. Lovely.
by TheElusiveShadow on Sep 3, 2009 9:57 PM CDT reply actions
Oregon's going to have to get their game together at the half
or this is going to be a runaway. Hasn’t Oregon run like 4 drives that were all 3 and out? And Boise’s a couple botched plays and bad calls away from 21-0
3 possessions I think.
All 3 and outs.
by HornPossessed on Sep 3, 2009 10:15 PM CDT up reply actions
Panic throw.
They keep this up, USC is going to obliterate them when they play.
by TheElusiveShadow on Sep 3, 2009 10:17 PM CDT reply actions
I'm going to go ahead an call it right now
Oregon isn’t in contention for the Pac-10 title, who’s up next?
I could easily see Boise State running the table
Maybe them and Penn State or Notre Dame too. Who wants to watch Boise State vs. Notre Dame in the national championship, kids?
Can we get an effing playoff already?
by pleaseplaykindle on Sep 3, 2009 10:23 PM CDT reply actions
That was such an awful play call with your endzone at your back
Takes too long to develop.
by TheElusiveShadow on Sep 3, 2009 10:25 PM CDT reply actions
Don't Laugh, But Oregon Might Win This
…in the second half. Why? Could they play any worst? I don’t think so. And the defense has been pretty darn good despite being under the gun all game. If the offense can get something — ANYTHING — going, Oregon could pull this out…
You're right
Despite playing horrifically, they’re down only 13. That’s two scores. All those FG attempts (and missed ones at that) may come back and bite Boise State.
by TheElusiveShadow on Sep 3, 2009 10:36 PM CDT up reply actions
Plus The Emotional Factor
Biggest game of the year — possibly the entire school. They SHOULD be this pumped up. Hence the stout defense. They’re just running on emotion right now. Also why the offense keeps making stupid mistakes. Too much emotion. It’ll go in the second half. The defense SHOULD tire themselves out from all the first half emotions. I’ve seen it before in these “biggest games in school history” games.
by iamjackburton on Sep 3, 2009 10:38 PM CDT up reply actions
Yeah, and it's Boise's fault for leaving their first two drives with no points
This game easily could have been out of reach by this point.
I find it hard to believe that Oregon’s going to pull it together on both sides of the ball though, because they’re looking horrific and are going to need the entire team to step up to make something happen
Oregon Couldn't Play any Worst and Boise Can't Play any Better
Down to the wire, this one, mark my words…
by iamjackburton on Sep 3, 2009 10:40 PM CDT up reply actions
Boise can certainly play a lot better.
And Oregon has done absolutely nothing so far to show that they can get a first down, much less score any points.
Unfortunately I can't stay up for this nail biter
But it’s good to know the season’s underway. We’ve got football. I’ll have to catch the highlights in the morning.
7:07 in the 3rd
Oregon converts there first 1st down of the season!!!
I guess USC is safe
Obviously not a conference game, doesn’t impact the standings etc. etc. But really, 30 minutes to get a first down? Oregon looks completely asleep at the wheel, in what they themselves have stated is a revenge game.
Driving towards their first score now. Maybe what they need to turn it around.

Masoli reminds me a LOT of Pat White as a passer
Every pass is just him throwing the damn thing as hard as he can. Little to no touch, every pass is rifled whether it’s 5 yards or 50.

Classic Bob Davie
I love how he is already pumping up BSU’s BCS chances should they win this one. Certainly Boise has a good chance to run the table given their schedule, but if this is at all indicative of how Oregon’s season will look, NOBODY will be impressed.
by the chairman211 on Sep 3, 2009 11:50 PM CDT reply actions
when oregon runs the zone read....
…doesn’t the QB need to READ the defense, and not just hand it off to the RB? Seems like in the safety and this failed 4th down convo., Masoli has predetermined his decision
Wow...
That was such poor blocking, I initially thought it was a screen. Embarrassing.
by TheElusiveShadow on Sep 4, 2009 12:08 AM CDT reply actions
For how terrible Oregon is playing
They are down by 11 and still barely alive. That says a lot about Boise.
by TheElusiveShadow on Sep 4, 2009 12:12 AM CDT reply actions

There’s a reason no one gives them any props. Even USC is suffering because of the bad reputation.

are they
really chanting overrated when they’re the higher ranked team?
Not to harp on Coach Bob but...
“Was there ever a game that you can remember in college football, that got as much attention as [Boise State vs. Oklahoma Fiesta Bowl]?”

More punches landed than rushing yards
One punch, -5 rushing yards.
He damn near mixed it up with the stadium security there.

Loved the backpeddling
With about 4 guys in blue charging him.
oregon the mighty explosive offense scores 8 pts and a bonus punch. They had a chance to capitalize off mistakes. They made mistakes, boise st made mistakes right after, and they still couldnt punch it into the end zone. So much for an exciting game
Oregon was atrocious
Like, really bad. I’m pretty sure Chiles could have led our second team offense in a win that game, considering the amount of gifts the Ducks got from Boise.
by TheElusiveShadow on Sep 4, 2009 12:34 AM CDT up reply actions
So how will they be without Blount? LOL.
I’m guessing entire year suspension.

-5 yards on 8 carries
by 7Swords of Salat on Sep 4, 2009 12:43 AM CDT up reply actions
I agree that the punch is not as bad as some other stuff
But even some Oregon fans, apparently, over at their SBN blog, are calling for him to get kicked off the team or suspended for the year. It probably has to do with his past behavior and the publicity this is going to get, being on national TV and all. Plus, he didn’t exactly walk away calmly after he hit the guy. He almost went into the stands and was struggling against security.
by TheElusiveShadow on Sep 4, 2009 12:43 AM CDT up reply actions
Heat of the moment.
We’re all prone to extreme reactions when we see something atrocious like that. Then we actually think about it and realize we’re being ridiculous.
Well if it was me, that's what I would do
unless it’s Sergio were talking about, then we would just have a heart to heart.
make him do community service. Suspend him for one quarter
Just kidding
BUt if you look at it, Boise St player started contact first with should tap
yeah, douchey move.
but he wasn’t trying to start anything like that. and props to chris peterson for jumping in after his player tapped Blount and berating him (which of course is what distracted him and let blount get the cheap shot in).
I just wish
Howard Cossell could of announced the punch, down goes (insert random boise st.’s player name) I mean that was just cold…
he gave him the business
3/19/2009 - Dogus Balbay Made a Three-Pointer. Never Forget.
Overamped?
You know these guys were amped up and we can only imagine how the taunts made it into pregame speeches. The statement had already been made on the field with a decisive game control defense by Boise State. Why seek a guy out and rub it in, unless he’s a sooner.? jk…maybe.
Even then the battle belongs on the field within the time limits of the game. I consider it classless on both guys account. The punch was obvioulsy assault and should be disciplined, but the confrontation was sensless to begin with and shouldn’t go without recorse either.
If a coach or team leader is going to use taunting statements from another team for fire then he better have a handle on his guys. Look, you dominate the guy, embarass him legitimately on national tv where it counts the most between the goal lines. The highlights and the stats will make a mcuh more poignant statement than you could ever hope to.
I think both should be sat down. The punch and rant afterwards would take deeper consideration, but the insite would not go unscathed.
A learning opportunity for all. Strong team leadership can not be undervalued. Motivation is only a part of that.
