Former UT Quarterback GJ Kinne shines in first start with Tulsa
He looks great. Glad to see the guy found a niche. You can see why we recruited him.

He looked really good
Good arm strength, pretty accurate, even on the run. He ran extremely well, too. The little Colt/Vince run toward the line of scrimmage and then throw it over their head for a TD thing was priceless. What is it with our QB transfers? Snead is the best QB in the SEC (WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT!) and now Kinne looks like he’ll be great at Tulsa. Ho hum.

Kinne was a weird deal
who redshirts, then transfers immediately without really even trying to compete for a starting spot, or even spending time as a backup?
It makes me wonder if there was more to it than just football, like maybe he wasn’t comfortable in Austin, and wanted to go to school somewhere smaller?
Tulsa’s offense continues to hum even without Malzahn guiding everything.

The weird part about him wasn't that he transferred.
It’s that he came here at all when it was obvious to everyone that he was probably never going to compete for a starting job.
