Wow
So much for looking for a tighter, less risque coach.
Carroll part 2 is about to commence!
Too funny
This last month of recruiting is going to be fun to watch.

Kiffin shouldn't have a problem keeping USC on probation once the NCAA catches up to them...
Not the kind of coach you bring in to clean up a program. Ahmad Dixon ready to change his commit again?
Except without the success.

Jeffcoat?
Does the credibility in Monte Kiffin help them or is he done with them at this point?
i would think
jeffcoat’s done w/ usc, but you never know.

So does Tenn. see this as a chance for a huge do over?
with a big sigh of relief
Please tell me you got that.

The good thing is Kiffin is NO Pete Carrol and what does this mean to the Tennessee program?
who are they better than in there confrence Kentuckey, Southern Miss, South Carolina

that's what I meant
Jeffcoat has way more character than McFarland and would never have participated in that fictional hit piece in the NYT. I don’t like that Jeffcoat is trippin’ to OU, but I can’t imagine him going there since he didn’t commit to them back when his sister did.
Poor Tennn AD
I bet he blindsided him too, little weasel he is…
What happens to that stud freshman RB they had…Brown I think
He came because of Kiffin…
Boom
Anyone else worried about the Vols making a big run at Muschamp? Not that he’ll leave, but I still worry…
I wanted to like Kiffin for at least shaking things up in the SEC
However, this guy is just a snake in the grass. He dumped on kids he brought into that program just one year after he got there. I’m all about trying to get ahead and better your position but not at the extent of sacrificing my integrity. I don’t know how any recruit could listen to him now given his track record.
"I want to be remembered as the guy who gave his all whenever he was on the field."

Stop with the Muschamp remarks hes going nowhere if Texas would of won Thursday he would of been the coach within the next 4
As soon as Gilbert brings us a MNC win Mack will be possibly gone. The man wants to go out on a high note
U don't think C. Scott might be looking to fill that spot?
Please tell me you got that.

I think Scott takes Gideon's spot....
Iam still not sold on Gideon but he did improve leaps and bounds this year. He still has tackling and athetic ability issues.
makes sense
I see the truth in it
Please tell me you got that.

Where hasn't Dixon been committed to?

And what of Ahmad Dixon
and his commitment carousel?
by SpiritOfTheFedora on Jan 12, 2010 8:10 PM CST reply actions
I suspect Dixon will be carrying the running back from Temple's suitcase to USC
This is a perfect three ring circus
I guess we have a few more scholarships
with people leaving early or being dismissed from the program
We're still at 67 including Blaine Irby and Ian Harris
plus 22=89 by my count. And possibly Hicks and/or Jeffcoat. Numbers are tight to get down to 85.
by SpiritOfTheFedora on Jan 12, 2010 8:22 PM CST up reply actions
Probably waiting on Hicks and Jeffcoat
Although I heard Mr.Ag Nelson contacted the staff and they said something to the likes of we are tight on scholarships and will let him know.
Would love to poach Mr.Ag away from little brother, but not sure of his character.
Guess we will see what develops..
Wouldn't shock me if he did...
Once a snake, always a snake
Kiffin's wife is still smoking hot
she will fit in perfectly with the other LA wives
Please tell me you got that.
True
Surprised she recently had kids. Kudos to her for getting back into insane shape
You have to admit, this is a hoot.
Hiring Kiffin is a great way to clean up the USC program. Good going, Trojans.
You are so right

Kiffin on recruiting violations last month...
Tennessee football coach Lane Kiffin said he takes investigations of the school’s recruiting practices as a compliment.
Muschamp
I’m not one to spread rumors, but a buddy of mine that was a sports editor at the Tennessee student newspaper just sent me a text “Will Muschamp just got offered HC by Tennessee.” Take the info for what it’s worth, I doubt he leaves regardless.
Well
They wanted him last go-round too….I remember Tenn fans clamoring for him and they offered him the gig and he said he had no interest.
It would only make sense 1 year later they still wanted their number 1 guy a year ago.
Has anything changed in the last year to make Muchamp listen this time is the question…..
Muschamp
If Muschamp bolted, wonder if he would take Major as well as his OC. This would truly suck…I can’t see them waiting around too many more years for Mack and Davis to leave; espcecially, with programs like Tenessee showing interest, at least in Muschamp’s case.
Muschamp ain't leaving Texas
to clean up Kiffin’s mess….Tenn is screwed and Muschamp doesn’t roll that way.
Unrest in Knoxville...
Hundreds of students in Knoxville at the football offices…twitter feed of what’s happening: http://twitter.com/Swiperboy
From WBIR: Hundreds of students have now gathered on Johnny Majors Boulevard and are blocking the road, apparently with the goal of keeping departing Coach Lane Kiffin from leaving the lot. There are signs that order is breaking down–someone has apparently brought a mattress down and lit it on fire.
I bet it would probably depend how things went down the first time
But, I have to think that a kid that would commit to Kiffin is probably not a kid that would work out for us.
Kiffin vs Karma
Must suck for Tennessee though as much trouble Lane caused. Getting Monte brings instant credibility. Same with USC, having Monte follow his son must be enticing for Dixon, maybe Jeffcoat and Hicks although I think Hicks is pretty much down to just Texas and OSU. USC, SoCal and it’s huge recruiting base, can’t exactly blame him for choosing USC over Tennessee. Plus there’s Pac-10 versus SEC competition…seems like a much easier road to BCS. Gotta think Tennessee’s going to issue a lawsuit against both Kiffins and USC.
As for karma…1) right after Kiffin signs the paper, the NCAA comes down hard on USC for Mayo-Bush violations, or 2) Pete Carroll gets whipped in Seattle and tells Kiffin to get out of his chair.
The pride and winning tradition of The University of Texas will not be entrusted to the weak or the timid.
Hook'em
According to rivals
he is a ‘solid verbal’ to Tenn and only committed a few days ago….
yet on friday he has a visit lined up with Alabama……what?!?!
my guess is he ends up with sleeze number 3 (Saban) when all this mess is done
He already hit sleaze no. 3 (Kiffin at Tenn.)
He will be on commit no. 4 when he goes to U$C with him.
Texas, Baylor, Tenn, and now ? probably USC with Kiffin.
this is insane!

WHAT?!?!?!?
Should make the USC-ND rivalry a bit more competitive
Especially with Brain (sic) Kelly coaching.
by burntorangehorn on Jan 13, 2010 11:43 AM CST up reply actions
Very much so
Can’t wait. Although hopefully Kelly can put together a good defense. It certainly isn’t hurting that USC is losing recruits who are now putting ND back on the list.
I'm interested to see how that actually goes
I had considered Kyle Prater a good target for ND to steal, but it looks like he’s going to go ahead and start class on Monday.

damn
Rakes of Mallow had reported the other day that he had decommitted, but I just now saw the report that he recommitted. Argh. I guess Kiffin put him over the edge, somehow?
Kiffin brings something, despite his inadequacies
He was instrumental in USC’s offensive success, so he is likely to prove attractive to offensive recruits. He also brings uber-slimy recruiter Ed Orgeron, who was using Tennessee cell phones to call Tennessee commitments in an attempt to get them to switch to USC…before the hiring had even been decided.
