Colt/Shipley Houston Autograph Signing on 1/23/10
Just saw this: Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley will be signing autographs at the semiannual Tristar Collectors Show in Houston tomorrow.
$80-$100 for Colt's autograph, and $40 for Jordan's. That's a bit steep for me, but it would be pretty cool to see both their sigs on one football.
Thought I'd pass the message along.

Don't get me wrong both those guys are a couple bad asses.
I went as far as naming my son Jordan, but $80-100 for an auto and $40 for Shipley. Come on boys don’t you think $10-20 is a little more reasonable, I mean you haven’t even accomplished anything at the NFL level yet! Like I said you guys were studs at UT but thats a little pricey for a sig
I wasn't able to make the trip to Houston,
so I ordered a couple of autographed photos- one of Colt and one of Shipley. Will look nice in my man cave!
I've never been a big autograph person
So therefore I would never consider paying anyone for an autograph. To me its just ink on paper. If someone wanted to give me one for free then sure I’d take it. I don’t really have a problem with what they are charging for them though. If someone values autographs enough, in this case being that of Colt and Shipleys’, then pay the price. Its capitalism. They are just making a buck.

I was there...
as I volunteer to work the Tri-Star shows in Houston twice/year. Colt and Shipley had big turnouts although you would have thought they were the Jonas Brothers the way some of the teenage girls shreiked when they entered individually. The thing that stuck out most when I saw Colt backstage is that he is a little taller than I thought. I am 6’1" and he was a good 1.5" inches taller. That made me feel a little better about his NFL chances as I thought maybe his height was fudged a bit. Both guys were real polite and didn’t have any posse in tow. I was hoping the new fiance would appear, but that was not in the cards!
Shipley looked in great shape (unlike Cody at the Senior Bowl) & I think he will find a niche in the NFL much like Cosby did, but even better.
Hook ’em!
