Who wore the Burnt Orange after the game?

Being a Longhorn fan in the state of Texas is pretty easy to do and commonplace these days. With recent success, I see alot of Burnt Orange apparel around. I work in a hospital so mainly wear scrubs but Fridays are casual. I went casual yesterday with a UT polo shirt to represent, bylaws be damned. One thing I thought about after the loss was...I wonder who is going to wear Burnt Orange in hostile terroritory today? I live in West Texas, where the natives are acting like idiots because Leach got canned. I heard all kinds of crap about the Horns today, honestly, it slid right off. I didn't even argue with anyone. I simply went with...

I'm happy and proud that Mack Brown coaches the football team, aren't you proud of yours...ooh that's right, you dont have a coach....

"Well, it was a great game, we fought hard to the end. It stings, I'm sure it feels like that time your team was in the championship and...oh wait, nevermind"

Anybody that knows me, knows full well that rep UT. National Championship wise, I rocked the colors after the CWS and after the Gazelles epic match. I really didn't see the sea of Burnt Orange that I saw before the game and thats fine, let the fair weathered fans move on. Being a sports fan, how can you not be proud that your school competes for championships in seemingly every sport? I digress, where did yall sport the colors and a) what garbage did you hear and b) what was your response?

Actually, now that you mention it

I wore all black today. Should have gone with the orange, though.

I regret this but I did not

In my defense, I live in Alabama and the trash talking would have been nearly unbearable had I worn my burnt orange.

Damn right

I wore burnt orange today – shirt, coat, and hat.

I went in a grocery store to pick up a couple items and was asked by an employee “Aren’t you embarrassed to be wearing that?”

I said “nope, I’m proud to wear it.”

He smirked and said “Proud? Didn’t Texas lose?”

I said, “Yes they did, but true fans wear the Horns proudly, win or lose. I’m 100% Texas through the thick and the thin.”

Wore it

I wore my colors with my son and our hotel was full of Bama fans. We flew through Chicago and countless people came up and told us how impressed they were with the Horns’ toughness and their grit. They expressed sympathy over us losing our QB and were generally gracious.

No way we hide our colors when we lose. That’s what commuter schools do.

Worked from home yesterday...

so it really did not count. But I will wear my Burnt Orange at some point here in the land of thieves. Did for the 5 dark years after the second weekend in October. Some OSU fan (an adult) tried to rub it in to my 10 year old daughter Friday morning (who did go to sleep at her normal bed time), my wife tore into that ladies a$$. Funny how much hate we get when people cannot beat us. I am proud of what this team did. They could have mailed it in (like that dark day against UCLA or a few of the ou games in those 5 years) but they came out and played hard. I normally would have been down after a loss, but this time I liked the heart they showed.

We're Texas...and you're NOT
