We never saw the awesomeness that was what the '09 Horns could have been.
You know why?
Because I wanted one game, ONE GAME, for this season where we saw the Horns lay it all on the line. Where we saw that team live up to its potential.
We knew it was the NC game from Day 1! They were building for that game.
And our boys did show up to play, and a fluke injury derailed us for 1 quarter that we could not recover from, no matter how inspired we played afterwards.
Now the mark of this year's team will just be a big "what if?". They were really an all-time great team and now there's a blot on when they got their shot to show exactly how GREAT they were.
It was a missed chance, and missed from fluke accident.
The program is in great hands and we've got a great season to look forward to, but honestly, fate handed us a big crap pie right then and there. And I don't even have any words for what happened to Colt. Terrible. I've never wanted anything as bad as he wanted to play in that game and I can't even imagine what it must be like to have that happen to you and the team.
It sucks all around.
Now we have to look back on the OSU or Mizzou games for a glipse at what could have been, and imagine doing that to Alabama on the biggest stage in the world.
We lost something at that game, and I've been going over the silver lining's for a day or so, and they've come up short. We lost something great that day, and it needs to be recognized and mourned.
