ND is actually at 1:30 central today

and all the home games for the rest of the season. Switching to 2:30 EST games I assume because of the shorter days.

Never ask a man if he's from Texas. If he is, he'll tell you soon enough. If he's not, don't embarrass him.

usually that's what I do when ND is at home

because of season tickets and all that. Since ND is playing a directional school and is favored by 24, I’m staying home to watch Texas today, and sending my bf on his merry way to the ND game. Plus our fall break started yesterday, so tons of people aren’t even going to be there.

i have to disagree with the dislike of tOSU fans

my wife and i went to that fiesta bowl, my surprise xmas present from my wife, and the fans were awesome. we went in to one of the eateries outside the fiesta bowl and it was overcrowded and a couple of tOSU fans let us sit with them and they bought us some drinks. they were totally cool guys and very respectable.

during the pregame band parades i took several pics with tOSU fans and had quite a good time. i even got a picture with that really fat bald headed tOSU fan that wears the buckeyes necklace and earrings and paints his head all up and whatnot.

during the game we were mostly surrounded by tOSU fans and they were just cheering their team on. there were two guys who were drunk who kept “heehawing” at my wife, apparently that’s some kind of jeer to a texas fan?, so i switched spots with her so i was closer to them and apparently a 6’2" 250 lb guy is the perfect way to stop said “heehawing”. overall a very good experience.

lastly, man it was so awesome yelling TEXAS! FIGHT! over and over and over in the phoenix airport.

by dukeoforange on Oct 16, 2010 12:22 PM CDT up reply actions

maybe the ones who aren't students and actually travel to games are better

the average person in a tOSU hat/shirt I see around Cincinnati at restaurants, Reds games, Bengals games, wherever, are generally terrible. Plus they play “Hang on Sloopy” during a timeout at every Bengals game, which annoys me to no end.

ok i totally agree with the overplaying of “hang on sloopy”. i had to resort to humming the texas fight song to keep it from taking root in my oh so shallow psyche. also, you are probably right on them being non students as well as i recall all the peeps i mentioned were too old to be students.

Can we recap who prognosticated that JJ was going to be the Big XII player of the year?

…apparently a missouri rb was surrounded by “purple” jerseys on a play, LAF.

I always mix up Fordham and NYU

sports-wise. My cousin is a pro soccer player, and when he was looking at college offers, he turned down NYU solely because he refused to play for a team called “the Fighting Violets.”

he had offers from schools with D-I athletics so they weren’t really a contender anyway.

I think he means that A&M is so backwards

there’s no way they’d hire a black prof, and/or no way a black professor would want to come there.

My first ND home game to skip in 3 years. And picking up some lunch in South Bend while wearing a Texas jersey on ND gameday – yikes.
