Honest Predictions
Be honest with yourselves. Do you really think Texas pulls it out. I'd like to see the true general assessment in regards to the outlook the BONers have for the Longhorns Football Team. I for one, see it as being a very close game, and I have yet to decide who would win it.
Remember, you have to be honest with yourselves. No homerism, no blatant pessimism. Just honesty. I think I'll find it interesting to see the outcome after tomorrow.
Enjoy the game. Hook em!

TEXAS! FIGHT!
Outsider looking in,
and did watch a lot of the UCLA game and did not watch the RRR. But the numbers in the area of rush defense (UCLA: 56 attempts/ 264 yards/ 4.7 avg.; Oklahoma: 52/ 124/ 2.4) does show UT stepped up and played inspired football in that area against OU which I think will be the key to the game.
When looking at the box scores, I did see UT committed a lot of penalties in both the UCLA game and Oklahoma game—did improve in TO department—and am not sure if they were the false start/holding type that kill drives which UT cannot have. I did find it interesting that Mack said when interviewed this week, that Gilbert can/needs to scramble and pick up first downs on some third and shorts occasionally or when opportunity presents itself. I always thought of him as drop-back passer but did see he can move pretty well and this could help out the rushing attack—Neb has been vulnerable on rush D at times also. I think UT will come out swinging and with the talent y’all have as long as UT does not have turnovers/have false start and holding drive killers penalties, it will be close and could go either way. Without a lot of those things UT could win comfortably.

im not gonna lie, i would love for us to win
but jesus we are gonna get mudholed, not because of our defense, but because our offense wont put up more than 13 for sure
any thoughts that we are gonna rack up 300+ yards and somehow stop a dual threat qb (when we couldnt even stop the statue that is landry jones) are fools gold
pessimistic? yes….. the truth? yes, sadly it is

Or........
history could repeat itself (8-1 goes to 9-1) in a down in the dirt wrestling match, with Taylor Martinez being kept in check by our defense, and Gilbert FINALLY being turned loose for long passes—-which opens up the run game, headed by D.J. Monroe for a 100+ yard game….. UT squeezes out this win. I really do think this can happen. Then, Bo Peep implodes. I really do think this can happen, too!
Seriously, you could be wildly rich
If you did everything the exact opposite of what you think, you would be a huge success. Honestly, I laugh at everything you post because the exact opposite always happens. You are literally wrong about everything.

Never ask a man if he's from Texas. If he is, he'll tell you soon enough. If he's not, don't embarrass him.

Our Defense needs to create 4 or more turnovers to give us a chance to win..
The defense needs to score on at least 1 of the turnovers and put the offense in position to kick a field goal in another. That’s the only way I see us winning.
Or
Our offense could come out and perform closer to the level of play that should be expected from such a skilled group. But unless we employ some creativity to get around out pathetic excuse for an offensive line, then yes, you are right.

I don't see the offense scoring over 17 points without the help of the defense..
Especially in a hostile environment and Nebraska’s running game shortening the game. The offense really needs some short fields to score. Asking the Offense to put together 2 drives of over 70+ yards and a TD without shooting themselves in the foot is asking an awful lot. Nebraska will give up the short passes and GG will check down like he’s told and complete the pass short of the 1st down marker. GD, you can’t always take what the defense gives you because they aren’t gonna give you the 1st down!
But...
I see Mack telling GD to open it up, based on the the success GG HAS had when we have turned him loose from just dinky sideline to sideline passes short of the first down marker that fool no one. Mack desperately wants this win—and his 10 wins per year . If we come out NOT playing with the same Betty White conservative game plan of adjusting to what “they’re” doing, but instead play a FULL game with a “play it to WIN” mentality, I feel we can pull this one out.
I thought we were going to open up the offense against OU also but...
I saw the same old horizontal passing game. I hope your right that today will be different.
this is what I'm goping for
I feel like we need to go long, try to stretch the field with Malcolm, Davis, and D White and use that to set up some screens and draws with DJ and Goodwin. Mack has to know that much is on the line today, and a win in Lincoln could settle a lot of restless natives. I feel like they have to see this. i’d rather see a few pics on 40 yard attempts then go horizontal (or backwards) and end up punting another 7 times or whatever our season average is.
We have a better chance of going 80 yards in 4 plays than we do in 12. Because, as you said, less time to shoot ourselves in the foot.
I think we can...
We can win this game, the defense needs to have an excellent game, which they are capable of, and the offense needs to get us some points, 28 at least. It can be done with this team, the only question is will it get done, will the right plays get called and schemes get executed? We’ll see, I hope so… I really do.
Play like you mean it...

I had a dream
two nights ago that Texas won 48-7. Somehow I think that’s out of the questions today. Nebraska fumbles away key scoring drives and Texas wins by 3. Texas 9, Nebraska 6.
If Nebraska gets an easy touchdown early, this one could turn ugly.
Also,
Texas has to play a clean game for this to happen. No more drive killing/extending penalties and at least -2 on turnovers.
Ok, so there might be a little homerism and wishful thinking going on here…
One second
I’d be really happy with a 9-6 win, especially if we could score the winning field goal and leave Nebraska with 1 second on the clock; then have Gideon intercept a Taylor Martinez hail Mary.
Tex 31 NU 14
We take care of business in a big way today and put it all together in a huge showing by the offense and defense. Watch out for Barrett Matthews against NU’s 4-2-5. Bold predictions I know.
Sports is man's joke on God, You see, God says to man, 'I've created a universe where it seems like everything matters, where you'll have to grapple with life and death and in the end you'll die anyway, and it won't really matter.' So man says to God, 'Oh, yeah? Within your universe we're going to create a sub-universe called sports, one that absolutely doesn't matter, and we'll follow everything that happens in it as if it were life and death.'" - Sam Kellerman
This is the kind of game
that can re-define a team. Honestly, I could see this team come out with a real unranked-nothing-to-lose attitude and clean up, finish the season undefeated, and possibly continue on that streak for two more years.
Also, I could see them getting completely dominated, all walking around with a dazed, bewildered expression. And Mack and GD saying ‘This one’s on us, and we have a lot to work on before next week".
Who knows? I’m hoping for the first one.
Back in the Saddle
We open it up, get mean, get mad, bomb downfield, run up the gut and we do it EARLY TOO. Just Win.

It's the things you least expect when it comes to big games.
Whaley starts in at H-back, pile drives for 50/50 pass/rush on 6 touches
Monroe at tailback, gets 220 yrds in 3rd qtr to blow the game wide open for UT
Hales in the slot, 150 yds on 5 catches 2 TDs
Gilbert goes vertical for 300+, 4 TD, 0 int
I don’t expect any of this at all.
I call bullshit! Bevo size!
Wha...? Whaley? No Hills?

Texas 2 NU 0
Texas punts the ball to NU, NU gets pinned at their own 1. Martinez commits a freshman mistake and kneels in his own endzone to kill the clock.
Unleashing a monster
I have a feeling DJ monroe will rush for 100 yds today. hes had two weeks to learn the damn playbook
I'm going with Nebraska "wins confidently"
but we definitely won’t be putting up 27 points on this team.
