EDSBS LIVE: Football Tuesday Edition
This can't be the official Boise State Anthem. Now, it could be the "official" anthem, but it's certainly not the Official Anthem of Boise State football, though we did officially LOL when Jo-B holds the last BLUUUUUUUUUE.
Boise plays Louisiana Tech tonight in the unending struggle for civic pride between Boise, idaho and Ruston, Louisiana. (Boise: ahead in most HDI indicators and football wins; Ruston, clearly leading in Karl Malone-ness.) We'll be doing a show at 9:00 p.m. to discuss how we've ruined Peter's life, and how Greg Davis is most certainly not to blame for Mack Brown's refusal to never dance again for his team.
"So what I do, which is totally out of character, is I get [equipment manager] Chip Robertson to get me a coach's shirt, which is sort of torn down the middle. And I've got a camouflage shirt and pants under it, and I rip the coach's shirt off and – in pre-game – I pull the pants off. "And I had worked hard for a week – because I can't dance a lick – to do the Soulja Boy dance. And they laughed so hard that they were crying. And I was so embarrassed. And I thought, 'Finally, we're getting some emotion! It's going to work!' "And we stunk. We stunk."
The illustrations someone creates for this will be formidable.

Is it me, or does everyone look really slow in this game?
Maybe it’s the blue turf…
Mack Brown after the Iowa St. game when pressed on the team's offensive woes: "I don't know. You'll have to ask Greg (Davis). He calls the plays."
I want to see Boise in the NC game
Why not? Give them a chance – let’s see what they can do. If any non-BCS team deserves the opportunity, it’s Boise St. At the very least, it could help lead to the demise of the BCS. (I can wish can’t I??) If they lose the NCG, then we can tell them to shut-up; if they win, we can pat them on the back.
I’m interested in hearing the reason(s) for hating BSU. I don’t want to hear about the blue field and I don’t want to hear about their schedule. That’s comparable to saying a one-loss SEC school “deserves” to be in the NCG just because they are the SEC. That in itself is garbage, so don’t gripe about BSU’s conf. & schedule – it is what it is. Yea, yea, yea….they couldn’t do this in a BCS conf – so what?
I’m not really pro-BSU or anti-BSU so this isn’t meant to ignite a big argument “for” or “against” BSU. I’m simply looking for a pulse as to why so many hate BSU.
I don't like their blue field!
And have you seen their schedule? They could never go undefeated in a BCS conference!
Not sure why you give so much love to the ACC and Big lEast
Mountain West is better (which Boise State will join next year). ACC and Big lEast deliver TV markets so they are allowed into the club.
With Boise State, it is just enjoyable to watch a dispelled and well coached team come into each game with a plan to dominate. Maybe Mack should spend less time on PR and being a “CEO” and more time getting his hands dirty and coaching.
Oregon would cream Boise
I’m over the sympathy for Boise. I want a BCS mess, so I don’t really care but I don’t think they are anything special.
And, if they want to be taken seriously, they need to get rid of the smurf turf and play on a real field like everyone else. The blue turf is so irritating – hard to see and their players blend in with matching color. They should have to wear solid orange at home. LOL Also, I have been watching the Boise OL and on almost every offensive down at least one, if not more OL for Boise are holding, yet it is never called on them.
Oregon would cream Boise, huh?
That is exactly what people said the last two years Boise State beat them. It’s funny how you are scared of team that you claim isn’t anything special.
As far as the smurf turf goes, people were fine with it back when Boise was a cute little program that played pretty well. Now that they are ranked so high and a threat to the “big boys” everybody gets uptight about it. Stop looking for lame reasons to hate Boise. You hate and justify your hate for teams that you are scared of.
On every single football play at any level there is possible holding. Again, get over it and stop making ridiculous excuses for why they beat everybody. Focus on why your team can’t beat crappy teams (UCLA, Iowa State anybody?).

...and which game of the season...
…did Boise play their hardest game of the season? Oh that right, the first one. If you think the VT team you beat is the same as the one know, or the Oregon team is the same as when you played them, you are mistaken.
Again, get over it and stop making ridiculous excuses for why they beat everybody.
Your excuse of a schedule is enough. Go home troll.

What about the Fiesta Bowl
The Broncos played pretty well against TCU as well, in case you don’t remember. VT is the exact same team now (check your spelling tool) as they were when Boise State played them. We are still in the same season. Again, I know that you, vy til i die, are personally hurting for the down year that Texas is having, but get over it. Life will go on. Don’t take out your anger on Boise State, TCU, Utah, or any other mid-major threat. All three teams would own the Longhorns this year. Moving on…

oh no, I have no qualms w/ TCU or Utah...
..they play in a decent conference. TCU played Baylor, and that pesky Oregon State team ya’ll did, and beat them both. You play VT and they lose the next week to James Madison (same season, right?). Must’ve been hard to play on a “neutral” site and beat them. Only it’s less hard when a D2 team can beat them at their home the next week. Again, who has BSU played that warrants them to be ahead of TCU or to be in the MNC game?
Again, go home troll.

Maybe we would play better with orange turf

First and foremost, I want a damn playoff. I think for this year, being that Texas has ceased playing meaningful football, I’d like to see BS U (intentional space) and Oregon go at it. They are similar styles with questionable gimmicks in blue turf and puke covered uniforms and both have never won anything worth mentioning. Throw in Lablount gate for a lil added hate and you a recipe for a good game, maybe.
