In modern times, any "established" Texas football coach with a losing record was terminated at the end of the losing season. The one exception was David McWilliams but his tenure was so awful and so short it would be hard to say he was ever "established". Baring the occurrence of any miracles analogous to raising Lazarus from the dead, it appears Texas will have its first losing season since 1997, when John Mackovic was dispatched to the netherworld of losing coaches. Maybe Mac will get an extra year for good will (he did win a MNC and get a second trip to that game); but if things don’t improve….well history isn’t on Mac’s side.

The problem is he is an ultra conservative play caller.His effort to turn a sows ear running game into gold backfires.

Mack should do the right thing and either fire Davis or fire himself.

I hate to see the carnage when A$M rolls into town with thier new QB and lets the Horns beat themselves yet again.

This team is broken.They should have a players only meeting and call out those not performing on the field.

Let me see if I get this straight…you want to fire Davis ( who is may deserve it ) yet you give a pass to Muschamp, whose defense continues to give up big play after big play…The Horns once again gave up 30 plus points!!! Firing coaches only makes fans feel better…rarely does it solve the problem ( our players are not performing )
