Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

A knee injury sustained during the Baylor game will keep starting senior left guard Michael Huey out for the net 4-6 weeks, likely meaning that he will not have a chance to play again at Texas unless the Longhorns manage to win two more games to reach bowl eligibility.

Hopkins to start,

per the depth chart on MB-TF.com. Hopefully the experience will do him well.

Tough break for Huey.

Too bad his Longhorn career ends like this.

Huey sucks anyways…in reality all senior linemen should be bench…and the RS Freshman and others should get experience for nxt yr.

Huey sucks?

He’s been our most consistent lineman

yep! his whole career has been a disappointment right up with Allen. Top 2 linemen in the 07 class. Allen a 5 star and Huey a 4 star and in the top 50 overall. Longhorns have to scrap this year and prepare for next year and that means run the bloody ball from under center. It will do no good to keep players like Porter, Kelley, and other on the bench. Have to get ready for next year.

You are blind and know nothing about Offensive Line

Huey is having a great year. Maybe you’re thinking of Hix or Mitchell who have been terrible.

Nothing like pulling for an injured senior

I guess a .500 season brings out the worst in everyone. Geez.

alright…tell me where Huey is going to be drafted at

Hard to say when he's on a 4-4 team surrounded by chumps.

His play could very easily go unnoticed, obviously and really it’s not about where he gets drafted. Ask me how he’s doing in 2-3 years

Lets be realistic

The word sucks was a wrong word to use..the word disappointing is better. Huey came in with Tray Allen, Kyle Hicks. Those three have been huge disappointments Tray never got on the field and the Double H’s are mediocre. We as fans need to expect more from our players and give tell them they are sucking it up when they are and not be a Wade Phillips type and just pat them on the back. I still have nightmares of Suh straight up destroying everyone on the Texas line.
As fans we all have been critical on GD for not running the ball…maybe he is not cause he knows our linemen are not tough enough….seriously people accept that the O-Line is mediocre and change is needed and not continuity. Its just like the Linebacker core back in 2006 and 2007 with Rashad Bobino, Scott Derry, and Killebrew. All three suck and started and we beg for Kindle, Norton, and Muck to start. its time to put in the young guys and see what they have.

You're completely missing the point.

Prior to this year, ya Huey has not been great. But he is having a pretty good year according to me and at least his coaches and peers. It’s a bad year and often during bad years it’s hard to notice good play- especially at non-skill positions.

He’s a Longhorn, in his last year, and if his team doesn’t rally with him on the sideline he might not ever suit up again. And what is your first response?

Huey was a disappointment anyways… He should’ve been on the bench

Nice
