From 1st to Worst - Rose Bowl to No Bowl - All in 12 months

I fully expect the uncompetitive losing to carry into next year - and a new offensive coordinator won't fix the ship. The offensive skill position players are undersized and are not physical enough to fight for the ball, get open, or break long runs. Most of these players have been in the program 3-4 years, why they are not physical freaks by now is hard to understand. Are these players really being pushed as hard as Mack and crew says they are? I think this lack of physicality of the team partly explains the meltdown over the last 5 games, they simply don't have the strength or stamina to come back from being behind or finish a season.

Not the problem...

I think the problem is that the horns field general is a sophmore with no skins on the wall!!!!! Also this group of seniors I dnt see any vocal leaders!!!(example: if you have your punter trying to pump the troops up on the sideline like I saw last week at k. state you got serious leadership problems!!) In 2005 you had VY and some other guys that where vocal leaders!! Same thing last year with Colt and Shipley but I think they where leaders with their play and everybody else followed!!! Next year will be different with a couple of tweeks to the coaching staff and shipping this group of seniors out and these juniors and sophmores need to step up and become leaders this summer?!?!?!

In the first 3 quarters of the last 2 games. After the Baylor game, with all of the pre-season goals shattered, I fully expected this coaching staff, and these players, to rise up with anger, pride and unity to play significantly above their capability … because that’s Texas Football. In fact, they have slouched to record lows.

I think Burntup and others raise very good questions about how this offense can be so physically weak and sloppy, how can the defense be so out of position, how can the team be so generally unmotivated that week after week, they don’t seem to get the urgency until the 4th quarter? This is rotten to the core on an epic scale. Much, much more than tweaks will be needed to turn this around.
