TV Viewing for FAU
The Longhorns play Florida Atlantic Saturday at 2:30 Central, and they will try something different on TV coverage. Between the way the 'horns have been playing, and given the opponent, I am happy that there will be TV coverage at all, so I am going to roll with it.
This week the game will be will be on "Fox Sports Southwest Plus". This is an alternate channel in the Fox Sports Southwest coverage region that can be used for coverage of events deemed to be not quite up to level of attractiveness that you would need to be covered on the regular Fox Sports Southwest channel. I haven't checked to see what will be covered on the regular Fox Sports Southwest on Saturday but I'm thinking it's the Waco regional dog show or some other heavy hitter.
What are your options ?
Those of you in the promised land, including Texas, parts of OK, and AR which normally receive Fox Sports Southwest appear to be golden, it looks to me that you will see the game on Fox Sports Southwest Plus ('the mas') on your regular cable system. You can follow this handy link the mas channels and see exactly what channel the game will be on in your city. The good news includes those of you DirecTV subscribers in the Texas region, who will get 'the mas' on DirecTV channel 677 for no extra money. AT&T U-verse subscribers will also get it on channel 754.
Those of you with Dish...I just don't know. They may carry the game, but right now it is on the dreaded channel "TBD", so you may want to call Dish and ask them what's up. Leave a comment here if you find it. If you don't, you may think about switching, you can't get NFL Sunday Ticket there anyway.
For the rest of us:
I am a DirecTV subscriber in Tucson, where I don't normally get Fox Sports SouthWest (I get Fox Sports AZ) so I am not expecting that I will get 'the mas' for free. I am going to try it Saturday during the pregame. If I get the dreaded "not subscribed" message I will run to DirecTV.com and instantly subscribe to their Sports Package for $12/month, which I will cancel after the football season is over. Hell, last year I paid $35 for a PPV of the UTEP or Wyoming game, so this is a bargain.
If all else fails, you can probably find game audio on internet radio somewhere, and it will be on XM channel 220.

Sigh
I hope there’s a good feed online somewhere. At least I know I’ll be able to catch the Thanksgiving Day game.
There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

free(?) online streaming - any advice or rec's?
I’ve been trying get set up to stream the games through my laptop to my new HDTV for the past month. Being on disability, I need to avoid monthly charges as much as possible, and look for the least expensive & tiime consuming options. I finally got a faster connection, and hookups worked out, but have spent the past 2 Saturdays trying to figure out the safest, morst affordable site to get the stream – too much info, and still using the radio. Anyone have any suggestions? Any idea how I could at least see the end of today’s game? I know it doesn’t make a lot of difference for this season, but would like to at least try it before it’s over.
Now that Dish has solved their dispute with Fox I should be able to get the game
Texas is currently a 21.5 favorite. Hee hee.
That was his power. The greatest trick Greg Davis ever pulled was convincing Mack Brown that he was invaluable. And like that, poof. He's been here for 12 years.
so, even if we hold them scoreless, we would have to score at least three touchdowns…that sounds like a tall order.
Four, actually. Or three TDs and a field goal. Or three TDs and a 2-point conversion.
Remember, there’s that pesky half point…

good stuff, thanks
I’d like to say I saw a Longhon event via “the mas” last year. Perhaps a basketball game?
I don't always watch football, but when I do, I prefer Dos Achos. Stay thirsty, my friends.
FiOS DFW
From what I can find, the Stars SBN site claims it is 333, but that is a BTN channel in the listings. Can anyone confirm this or point me in the right direction?
U-Verse
It’s on 1695 on U-verse, at least in Houston.
This sucks!
I could’ve never imagined our season would be this horrible that we couldn’t draw in reg air play for all of our games…I remember last time we played FAU it was no mass confusion on where to watch the game because we in high demand for ratings to watch Colt shred every defense apart with our championship caliber team!
It's hard being a Longhorn fan in the state of Oklahoma!!
Dallas Time Warner
Customer service said channel 960 will say off-air until 2:30. The guy had the balls to try and sell me the game day pass to ensure coverage. Thinking I should of done that now. 2:26 and still off-air.
