Saw a post on a FAU fan site that said Texas is in the middle of the pack among BCS conference schools. There are 65 teams in BCS conferences. So I checked out the records to see if that was the case. Sadly it isn't.
Only six teams from BCS conferences have lost more games than UT this year:
Minnesota, Washington St: 2-9
Vanderbilt, Wake Forest: 2-8
Kansas, Duke: 3-7
Only eight teams from BCS conferences have worse records than UT this year:
Above plus Cincinnati, Washington: 3-6
Only fifteen teams from BCS conferences have same or worse records than UT this year:
Above plus Colorado, Arizona St, Virginia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Purdue, Indiana: 4-6
To top that off, only two teams from BCS conferences have a longer current losing streak than UT's 4:
Vanderbilt: 5, Wake Forest: 8
The 2010 Texas Longhorns are flat out bad. Not average, not even close. Bad. The company we're keeping says it all. Can we just flash forward to 2011 yet?
I hope Rick Barnes has his kids back from last year's epic collapse, not only to have a major sport to be happy about, but to lead the way back from the brink as an example for the gridiron guys. 'Til Gabriel Blows His Horn! }-
