I'm always intrigued by other coaching vacancies. Plus I'm tired of hashing Texas - at least until we hear what Mack is going to do, if anything.
Miami and Indiana are vacant. Okay Indiana is vacant but I threw it in there for giggles and no one actually gives a crap. Could LSU and Miles separate (as Kirk Bohls implies)??
Bohls mentions the LSU family isn't enamored with Miles and I'm sure Miles feels disrespected. I never understood why LSU took him to begin with - I think he's in over his head and he's better suited for a mid-level program (like Okie St - his previous stint). But if Michigan cans RichRod, which is entirely plausible, does Miles head to Michigan (given his ties and prior 'agreement' from a couple yrs ago)?!?
So say Miles is finished at LSU. Bohls states that Coach Boom could land at LSU given his previous ties with LSU. This is something that could happen - regardless of whether there are problems inside the halls of Bellmont. Where does Texas go for a DC? I don't think we want to pilfer from Auburn again - they haven't shown anything defensively that's impressive. Do we bring back Carl Reese? (That's a joke.)
Bohls also mentioned Fulmer being interested in Texas State. Really? I think Fulmer could do better.
As for Miami, the short, public list of names is Tuberville, Mark Richt, Mike Leach, and Gary Patterson. Tuberville - I don't see it despite his prior stint as a coach at Miami; Richt - not him either. Leach - possibly if they can't land Patterson. I can definitely see Patterson at Miami. Bohls threw out OU(sucks) Brent Venables.
Thoughts?? (stay away from Texas speculation, unless it's about a Boom to LSU type scenario).
