A. Will is our best corner and our secondary will miss him....
but hopefully this will allow a younger player to gain some valuable experience!
Get better defense #4.

I'd post how i feel about gideon
but i’d probably get banned. If it hasnt sunk into his thick skull that the way he plays football is not only unsafe but just plain stupid then perhaps this will help. running full speed into a pile or wr with your head down is more likely to either cause you to miss the receiver ala the long baylor score or worse injure someone ie A Williams, not to mention the increased chances of a serious spinal cord injury.
It seems to me that he has some major hard on for the big hit and seems to be some kind of wanna be knock out hitter like Roy Williams (OU not UT), the fact that he has played this way for so long at Texas is yet another indictment of poor coaching.
When this hit happened i nearly lost my damn mind. I was watching at my in-laws house in omaha, ne (yep they are all huskers including my wife who is an alum) and they were all speechless as to why he flew in there like that. i tried to explain that he has been doing this for years but it was too maddening to recount all his boneheaded plays for me.
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS TEXAS, STOP DOING THIS CRAP GIDEON!!!!!
Thx Gideon
you can’t cover worth shit but you’re able to take out our best CB… you are such a tool
and yes, i’m still mad at you for the dropped INT against Tech.
Y'all chill out
Talk about Mack cleaning out the coaches, not badmouthing a 21-year-old kid trying to make aggressive plays
"Excuse me while I whip this out."
take off your burnt orange glasses....
it aint bad mouthing if its true. So sick of the kid crap too. They arent kids. They are young adults.
Well
I can see you’re quite the grown up yourself. Enjoy the rest of the season.
"Excuse me while I whip this out."
I can see that you're not terribly familiar with developmental psychology
There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

He's trying his hardest
and he’s not the only one making dumb plays. A. Williams and Gideon are roommates and friends on the team. He feels the worst about this. Get over bad mouthing the guy/kid/whatever you want to call him, and blame the coaches.
yay!!
More adrian philips and lord carrington byndom
No sarcasm
And for those of you that hate gideon, get ready for 14 more months with him…he’s not going anywhere

i figured that, why would he leave early knowing that his nfl future is anything but a sure thing. i really wish he would improve his technique and angles but at this point i have zero expectations with anything Texas football related. Instead, i will tone down my normal fervor and be a witness to where this program is headed. it is my sincere hope that a year from now we can look back at this season and refer to it as the catalyst that caused a change in OC and redefined success for this program.
Blake Gideon...
doomed to always be known as the “guy who dropped the ball against Tech”. He has had his chances to redeem himself, but keeps finding ways to derail those attemps.

He has more than redeemed himself
He’s been a very good defensive back this season. He’s caused fewer problems for the Longhorns in 2010 than Williams has, in fact.

I think we're all aware of your feelings.
But Williams has blown coverage almost as often as Gideon has missed a tackle or taken a bad angle, and on top of that, Williams has caused far bigger problems with his punt-return performances.

I must agree
that Williams hasn’t been the all world corner everyone thought he was. I had really high expectations for him as most did, and he has dropped a pick-6, and muffed punts.
Williams has not blown coverage all season
What he does as a PR doesn’t impact being an “all world corner” in any possible way. Prince Amukamara is a consensus top 10 pick, and the difference between him and Williams is huge. As in Williams is way better and doesn’t give up huge chunks of yardage. He’s also great in run support. There’s a reason nobody throws at him.
Could you give some examples of Williams blowing coverage?
I don’t remember anyone even throwing his way the last few games, let alone having any success against him. Gideon gave up two touchdowns last week.
umm...
WTF?
Are you Gideon’s parents or gf or something? personally i like the kid, but football wise, he is not a good safety period.
its quite apparent that earl thomas saved Gideon from being exposed last yr…
I'll fix that for you:
its quite apparent that earl thomas saved Gideon the entire back seven from being exposed last yr…

Gideon has been very good?
You lost me.
A. Will has been very solid this year except for returning punts.

Gideon has been horrible
A.J. is the best cornerback in the league. I’m sorry that teams refuse to throw at him, because then you’d actually get to see him locking down on D each week. The fact that people still defend Gideon after his simply terrible angles, tackling, awareness, and play diagnosis this season is beyond me.
