Stickin' it to Muschump - Austin will be the next Longhorn DC

Mack is once again earning his pay as a masterful CEO/Manager.  Let me preface this by saying, I GUARANTEE Austin will be hired as the Longhorn DC for several reasons.

1.  Florida banked on challenging Texas' recruiting primacy in the state of Texas (at least for a few years) by hiring Muschump, also aided by the sudden deflation of Texas' prowess due to a dismal performance in 2010 (thanks in large part to a curious collapse of Muschump's defense which allowed 30+ points to perennial powerhouses like UCLA, Kansas State, Baylor...and held only ONE opponent to a single digit score...hapless Wyoming.).  Mack probably figured this out the day Muschump resigned.  Austin was a big piece of that plan.

2.  Austin is in charge of Florida's recruiting in Texas.  By hiring him, Texas pretty much eliminates any hope Florida will effectively challenge Texas for the blue chip recruits (especially on defense).  And whatever gains Florida makes into Texas will be offset by Austin's ability to recruit Florida players.

3.  Texas is making Austin an offer he can't refuse.  What's his alternative?  Stay in Florida and make less money, while watching a guy whose job he can now have on the sidelines as his boss?  Nothing Muschump throws at him will be good enough to make him stay.

You have to look at the long term picture here...the Oregon's and Auburn's are the proverbial dog's ass and the sun is shining this year.  It's all about the big boys...and recruiting is where they make their living.  Auburn will probably have to forfeit it's wins and the Heisman when the Cash Newton story is fully vetted in the off-season.

Austin is our new DC....bet your house.
