Despite the early good news from recruits, it sounds like Muschamp's departure may have some residual impact on UT's class after all.

To clarify...

Rasco only had an offer, so this doesn’t represent a commit jumping ship. But given how thin we are at DE next year, this is definitely disappointing news for the ’Horns.

Gerry H talked to Rasco today and he made no mention of Texas being eliminated (about 3 hours ago). Crazy crazy world we live in….

I'm guessing there will be several de-commits

and some new names surfacing as the new staff gets to work in January.

Probably good. Definitely different.

I doubt we'll see much in the way of de-commits for the 2011 class

they group seems unified at this point….and that’s coming from the recruits themselves.

I think the bigger impact will be on the 2012 class.

I'm not so worried about 2012

Let the new staff come in, establish presence and scheme, then start lining up the talent. We’ve had a lot of 4 and 5 star busts recently. Maybe a fresh set of eyes will help sort the wheat from the chaff.

I am so not worried about this

Rasco was never a Texas lean
Alexander is only a recent who’s who, and if he is like Mimms was from last year it isn’t going to matter much. Mimms is already on the way out.

Don’t be surprised or freaked out if Reed leaves. His dad is pushing him to A&M and he has always been a soft DE commit.

Do we need to recruit a solid DE-YES. But, if we can get some of the youngblood to step in at DT we can get Okarfor back out on End where he belongs—and a LB or two may step into the DE position if we get them some decent S&C coaching. Not worried here.

We are Texas…..contrary to other assertions (that even I posted) we are not the Armadillos. Don’t worry, be happy. This year is almost over.
