So arbitrary

Barnes sticks with Hamilton sucking the entire second half of the OU game, but pulls him in this one. Doesn’t play Brown but 2 minutes 2nd half that game, but willing to stick with him in this one.

At some point, he’s going to need to commit to a rotation, right? Right?!?

What is it about our teams

specifically football and basketball, that more than 50% of the time, we are coming from behind? Is that just my imagination?

Rick Barnes is going to need a Mack Brown-like

PR campaign to get us to calm down. Mack would have never let us have such high expectations for this team were it his.

Mack before this season if he's coaching bball: Welly golly gee we'll have 3 freshman playing significant minutes...

My brain keeps bringing back memories of the 2nd half of the UConn game

That was a turning point, it’s like this team lost its identity in Storrs. We can’t make layups nonetheless free throws. Our guards can’t get past a simple trap. We can’t get a loose ball. Pittman seemingly hasn’t made a shot in years.

by the1austin on Feb 8, 2010 9:13 PM CST reply actions

I get the feeling

that this simply isn’t going to be fixable in-season. Let’s see what the second half brings

And he would be an NBA lock

sick skills in everything not related to shooting. how is Dogus not a SOCCER player?

by feltgod on Feb 8, 2010 9:16 PM CST up reply actions

He said in an interview

in Turkey, he never had to shoot. He was too fast for anyone there to guard him, so he could just drive all day and lay it in.

by goingforthecorner on Feb 8, 2010 9:18 PM CST up reply actions

Ha that is awesome

i wish our team was good enough to cover up his shooting woes, because he is fun to watch out there. we just can’t hide him though on offense

no. 3-19 from the field from everybody else other than DAMO.

And last I checked dogus only took one shot all half…so 3-18 isnt much better…

by jacobb23 on Feb 8, 2010 9:17 PM CST up reply actions

obviously it doesn't fix everything, but you have to see what he's saying

having a point guard who is a legitimate scoring threat gives everyone else on the team a LOT more space to function.

by longhornscardinals on Feb 8, 2010 9:18 PM CST up reply actions

Correct

i call it the Avery Bradley postulate. He’ll make more turnovers than the other PGs, but our offensive efficiency will be higher because they can’t sag off him

by feltgod on Feb 8, 2010 9:21 PM CST up reply actions

Keep balbay in

and just have him drive to the basket every time and either attempt a lay up or dish it out

by Hobbes881 on Feb 8, 2010 9:16 PM CST reply actions

That may have been the low point. Yeah, might have.

about as much as I love cramming for a pharmacology test tomorrow. I seriously have a headache. This is BS.

game and season over

for what has unfolded over the last month and now tonight…..they’re done. There is nothing barnes can say or do to get through to these guys, they’re going to tune him out.

by silky51 on Feb 8, 2010 9:51 PM CST reply actions

I'm stunned

I was so certain we were going to step up and turn the season around with this win over the #1 ranked team. Instead, we fell a part. We look dead in the water.

I agree

Living in CT, I am going to catch so much crap tomorrow and I’m not even the kinda guy that goes around asking for trouble….

by DreadedOne on Feb 8, 2010 9:54 PM CST up reply actions

Aldrich is on the bench with 3 fouls. Why isn’t Pittman on the floor. I’d go to him and James every time down the court.

by miketag on Feb 8, 2010 9:53 PM CST via mobile reply actions

why dont we boo...

its justified.
Barnes just get back into his hammack and sips his fucking pina colida while making recruiting calls

Ummm...

I don’t know. We can’t overlook this forever.

Yeah I think it's a good time for a shower.

Gotta wash the stink of this game off me.

What?

A guard drove to the hoop?

by DreadedOne on Feb 8, 2010 9:55 PM CST reply actions

This PG drive offense with the floor cleared

is the only coherant offensive attach we’ve run in 2 years…this is what we ran against duke so well last year in the tourney

by feltgod on Feb 8, 2010 9:56 PM CST reply actions

KU starting to play really relaxed

hopefully we can sneak up and get this back to single digits.

by goingforthecorner on Feb 8, 2010 9:56 PM CST reply actions

Theres a difference in coaching I just have to point out..

rick let a big chunk of that 22-0 run go without a to. bill self just called one after back to back made baskets. and they scored in between them too.

by jacobb23 on Feb 8, 2010 9:56 PM CST reply actions

First team I’ve seen this year that can hang with y’all athletically

by miketag on Feb 8, 2010 9:57 PM CST via mobile reply actions

NIT! NIT!

we have 12 points in the 2nd half… awesome

lets go baseball!!!!

"We'll be baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!"

by greenspointexas on Feb 8, 2010 9:58 PM CST reply actions

Ok I'm punching out for now

I’ve got too much work to do, and this is really depressing. I’m not giving up on this year, but I’m going to start working on some baseball stuff to keep me occupied and my mind off the last 45 days of UT basketball. 2010 has been unkind to us.

Get off your knees Greg, you're blowin' the game.

by kriess on Feb 8, 2010 10:00 PM CST reply actions

The way football season ended, and the way basketball season is going...

…I expect a perfect winless season from baseball.

just re-adjust your expectations....

like, let’s hope we make it to the big tourney and get a win

by silky51 on Feb 8, 2010 10:01 PM CST up reply actions

Its not that at all

This is just taking alot out of me, and I need to think happy thoughts. I know much more about UT baseball than basketball anyways, so its an easier transition than from football to basketball.

Get off your knees Greg, you're blowin' the game.

I really hate this Collins guy,

Isn’t Kindle at the game? Couldn’t we suit him up to take him out?

by DreadedOne on Feb 8, 2010 10:03 PM CST reply actions

Remember a few weeks ago

When this was going to be the biggest regular season basketball game of the year? The Battle for the Big 12? Reminiscent of Ford vs. Heinrich? Maybe it could top KD’s shooting spree against KU?

Seems like years ago.

by the1austin on Feb 8, 2010 10:04 PM CST reply actions

I'll check back in 2 weeks

too worn out and tired of this team wasting my time

by silky51 on Feb 8, 2010 10:05 PM CST reply actions

Brown has been terrific last 5 minutes

13 pt game. 5 minutes left. Lets make this game respectable.

by goingforthecorner on Feb 8, 2010 10:05 PM CST reply actions

Careless

This team is so damned careless. Hamilton needs to have his ass chewed out….

by DreadedOne on Feb 8, 2010 10:06 PM CST reply actions

So heartbreaking

you get a number of defensive stops and CAN’T REBOUND THE DAMN BALL

by goingforthecorner on Feb 8, 2010 10:06 PM CST reply actions

Of course

The loose ball goes to Kansas. Christ.

by Peter Bean on Feb 8, 2010 10:06 PM CST reply actions

Knight is way off here

the elbows were out, not in . flagrant foul. fts coming our way.

by feltgod on Feb 8, 2010 10:08 PM CST reply actions

wow..how can that not be a flagrant?

sure DaMo fouled him first, but blatant elbows are T’s. Guess we just don’t have a superstar (hansbrough) to get the call.

by jacobb23 on Feb 8, 2010 10:09 PM CST reply actions

Brown missed another layup, but he got to the rack

this is the bright spot…i predict we run the table now.

by feltgod on Feb 8, 2010 10:09 PM CST reply actions

Hard to watch, but I disagree with the assertion that UT's quit

They just don’t have an offensive identity and so they just keep running into a brick wall.

by 54b on Feb 8, 2010 10:10 PM CST reply actions

We're not quitters

KU completely (and what should have been predictably) dismantled our motion-less offense.

by goingforthecorner on Feb 8, 2010 10:12 PM CST up reply actions

Hold on...

I think that they want to play (ie, haven’t quit) but they seem beaten down emotionally (let’s see what the next few bring)

by DreadedOne on Feb 8, 2010 10:13 PM CST up reply actions

they are definitely hustling tonight

just seem to have poor anticipation for loose balls.

by hayzer13 on Feb 8, 2010 10:14 PM CST up reply actions

definition of heartbreaking...

if morris doesn’t get that 3 point play we’re down 10…maybe 7..even after all the crap.

At least Brown deserves to start like Johnson. If you’re Barnes, it’s time for some major changes.
