Seniors

Will any of them graduate?

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. If they get mad, you're a mile away AND you have their shoes.

OU SUCKS!

Please win.

How Did Jai Earn A Start?????????????

Answer: By shooting 14% from the field during Big 12 play (3-22). Brilliant!!!!!

by LarrySabu on Mar 1, 2010 6:47 PM CST reply actions

I Don't Believe It

Until I see it with my own eyes, I don’t think even Barnes would come up with the notion of starting Jai.

by LarrySabu on Mar 1, 2010 6:49 PM CST up reply actions

Better Options

Mason at point, Bradley at the 2 guard, plus James, Pittman, and Johnson or Hamilton – no need to start Jai – what’s the logic???

by LarrySabu on Mar 1, 2010 7:37 PM CST up reply actions

i hate mason at point.

doesnt work. not saying that lucas at point does but….idk we’ll see

by ibleedburntorange49-9 on Mar 1, 2010 7:43 PM CST up reply actions

Agreed

Mason is no point guard – but Jai is in a funk and Mason DOES play excellent defense – let’s face it, these are really our only options unless Brown can go

by LarrySabu on Mar 1, 2010 7:47 PM CST up reply actions

everyone hates him at the point.

but we really dont have a better option. shit luck.

For some reason

I have a lot of optimism tonight.

Mark my words, I think tonight will be a turning point for our team. Not necessarily for a title run at this point, but just our overall improvement.

by Longhorn11 on Mar 1, 2010 7:43 PM CST reply actions

I hope your right.

I’ve been waiting for this team to turnaround and frankly, I’m a bit tired that it’s not happening. I support them 100% but can’t stand to see them under-perform most nights. It’s hard to watch them.

I could still see MSU making the Final Four

they have Kalin Lucas, and well… we don’t have any kind of guard remotely resembling him.

We’re playing like the 17-0 team. I can feel it. I can sense the swagger and confidence. Brown and Hamilton have A LOT to do with that. Pittman being productive and on the court is also huge.

by HornsUpInLA on Mar 1, 2010 10:04 PM CST reply actions

i think your point has merit.

it’s harder to shoot when you’re running all over the place on D.

by feltgod on Mar 1, 2010 10:06 PM CST up reply actions

I think he might be fatigued

he’s played a number of 35+ minute games. Could be hitting a wall as well. Barnes might want to limit his minutes a tad before the tournament. I wouldn’t mind starting Hamilton either.

by goingforthecorner on Mar 1, 2010 10:07 PM CST up reply actions

You think Jordan is a PF?

He’s a true SF that could play the 2 guard. Today our best rotation looked like it was Brown, Hamilton, James, Johnson, and Pittman. I would not mind if that was our starting lineup.

I think this could be a turning point in the season. Maybe the guys are rallying around our injured players and feeling more confident in a smaller rotation. Or perhaps I’m just backfitting the present to the past….whatever it is…I’m feeling good about our next game.

dont want to get too excited

but rick should focus on the last 8 minutes of this games as what can happen if everyone does their part and trusts the guys next to em. we can be special, the talents there, no question. its all mental. hopefully this is a self realization on the part of the team

by JRBTX on Mar 1, 2010 10:17 PM CST reply actions

if you notice rick really concentrated on everyone having one fluid motion with no pauses once the shooting motion started. watch closesly and everyone has changed that

Coach Barnes postgame comments

“Thought J’Covan played his best game of the year.”

“I thought we talked more from the bench. Guys were really into the game, other than the first 4 minutes.”

“Thought Gary did a great job on Crocker in the second half.”

“It was similar to the way we played earlier in the year.”

“Our guys have really worked at it (foul shooting).”

“We took care of the ball, had 5 guys in double-digit scoring. If you do that you’re a pretty good team.”

“Avery needs a couple of days off. Could really tell he had some fatigue.”

“The energy went up in the second half. Seniors really stepped up.”

Coach very talkative tonight. I would categorize it as “energetic”.
