Aggie defensive recruiting

Remember how beergut and miketag told us that deruyter and williams would be so good. Well so far the aggies are doing horribly on the defensive side of the ball. Were getting who ever we want including kids who would start immediately for the aggies ex:9(edmond,evan,thompson).Ou looks to be getting wallace and quincy aldridge soon. Lsu took t.randle from them and will prob get hughes. Hell tcu and houston have kids who a&m was after for example earl foster. I wonder why the aggies havent improved at all. They can't get kids even by telling them they'll be sitting at ut or ou and could start immediately for a&m. If sherman wants to compete for championships and if they're going to have banner years in 2011 and 2012 according to beergut, they better step it up. Muschamp is eating up williams and deruyter on the recruiting trail.

agreed that the Ags have been very quiet

When Mr. A&M Nelson did that little number on them at the end of the year I thought they’d come out with some hard corp D recruitment, but I’m still waiting. Contrary to their hatred of us, I would actually love to see A&M knock off OU, Nebraska and the likes.

Would love to see that . . .

. . . but it ‘s been a far different story since ol’ Reggie McNeal pulled out that big upset. I’m torn about the ags. If they would improve, they could occasionally beat up on other Big12 South opponents, esp. the suckin’ sooners. Maybe even make recruiting harder for ou. But then they’d start taking away kids from UT’s recruiting hauls. All things considered, I’d like to see a&m have some success and ou to start into a bad era. Atleast the Texan kids goin’ to a&m aren’t traitors to their state. Between the Jackie Sherrill / Slocum era at a&m and the early 2000’s era at ou, the latter was much more bitter for Longhorn fans.

screw a&m

after the whole “cart” thing i hope that their program sucks forever. I wonder what miketag and beergut have to say about muschamp kicking deruyters butt in recruiting. If they want to compete for the big 12 again they better develop a good defense in 2011 they’ll need it cause jerrod and fuller will be gone.

Not all aggies are idiots

I know some really fine people who graduated from aggieland though I do poke a bit of fun at them from time to time. miketag has never been particularly hostile or mean spirited. beergut or Martellus Bennett are not representative of the average aggie, there are people that you just ignore. I have to say I’m kind of impressed with Mike Sherman and I personally love it when aggie handles OU.

a&m chance is in 2010

The a&m defense will be horrible again, but the offense should be good. I think they will have a season similar to last year (win home games and lose road games). After next year, the aggies will be at the bottom of the south again and Sherman will be gone.

Why would a def. coor. from Air Force make recruits want to come to a&m? I haven’t even heard of the guy and I’m sure none of the recruits have either.

depth chart

Like i’ve said before they can’t even use the depth chart card. They lost nelson to ou despite ou’s lb depth. Steve edmonds, sheroid evens, leroy scott, kendall thompson, and des jackson all could have started immediately for a&m in 2011 but they chose to play for the best dc in cfb muschamp. This is because they know at a&m they wont have the teammates around them to take pressure off and their nfl chances are really low.

Playing in a quality program and being groomed for "the league"

is much more important to 99.9% of the kids than starting for a sucky program.

What is the “cart” thing?

by Wrangler86 on Mar 13, 2010 9:37 PM CST up reply actions

I'm guessing

that he’s referring to their use of the classless “Cart McCoy” monniker.

Every time I feel down and depressed, I think of seven simple words by a true wise man, Matt Leinart: "I still think we're the better team" and I usually end up hurting myself by laughing so hard.

cart mccoy

is what miketag calls him. This came after colt was sent to the locker room on a cart by a late hit by an aggie defender.

guess I wasn't paying attention

ban him.

Classy comment...wow

The aggies have a fair share of talented game changers on offense, but they were just young last year and imploded. If these guys get some consistency they could be good. But without a defense it is going to make it really tough for the O to carry the whole load.

no defensive recruit

guys like eric agbarogi, ladarius brown, or lyndell johnson dont want to play for a&m and the delusional aggies think they’ll get some recruits from florida ha..

will Texas give Muschamp a new title for next year
