GameFlows for last 4 conference games + season totals
Sorry for being ridiculously late on these. Lets just say along with my busy schedule, my motivation to do these has decreased significantly due to our mediocre play. I'm probably not going to make gameflows for the conference tournament games, but here's the last four regular season games, followed by the season totals.
Link to Texas vs Oklahoma St. GameFlow (W 69-59)
| Player (min) | +/- | +/- per min |
| D. Pittman (26) | +10 | +0.38 |
| J. Hamilton (20) | +9 | +0.45 |
| G. Johnson (30) | +9 | +0.30 |
| A. Bradley (38) | +8 | +0.21 |
| J. Mason (35) | +6 | +0.17 |
| J. Brown (16) | +4 | +0.25 |
| J. Lucas (3) | +3 | +1.00 |
| D. James (31) | +2 | +0.06 |
| A. Wangmene (1) | -2 | -2.00 |
Would be nice to get this kind of production from Pittman in the tournament. Only 16 minutes for Brown, while Bradley plays 38? You might have wanted to give him some rest, Rick.

| Player (min) | +/- | +/- per min |
| D. James (33) | -5 | -0.15 |
| J. Hamilton (24) | -6 | -0.25 |
| J. Brown (22) | -6 | -0.27 |
| J. Lucas (7) | -6 | -0.86 |
| J. Mason (29) | -9 | -0.31 |
| D. Pittman (13) | -9 | -0.69 |
| A. Wangmene (7) | -9 | -1.29 |
| G. Johnson (28) | -12 | -0.43 |
| A. Bradley (37) | -18 | -0.49 |
Ugly. In this game, there was bad and then there was terrible. AB once again played 35+ minutes, and was the least productive +/- wise.

| Player (min) | +/- | +/- per min |
| J. Hamilton (28) | +29 | +1.04 |
| J. Brown (33) | +21 | +0.64 |
| G. Johnson (28) | +19 | +0.68 |

Wow, what else can you say? Clearly our bench (yep Hamilton, Brown, and Johnson were all coming off the bench - great starting lineup you put out there, Rick!) carried us to our comeback win over OU. Notice the best rotation here was clearly Brown, Hamilton, James, Johnson, and Pittman. It's a huge lineup full of offensive weapons. While perimeter defense would be a concern, rebounding wouldn't be, as 4 of those 5 players would be considered good rebounders at those positions.
Link to Texas vs Baylor GameFlow (L 92-77)
| Player (min) | +/- | +/- per min |
| J. Brown (32) | +1 | +0.03 |
| D. Pittman (14) | -2 | -0.14 |
| C. Chapman (6) | -3 | -0.50 |
| A. Bradley (36) | -4 | -0.11 |
| D. James (31) | -7 | -0.23 |
| J. Mason (12) | -8 | -0.67 |
| G. Johnson (38) | -9 | -0.24 |
| J. Hamilton (31) | -13 | -0.42 |
Typical. Hamilton follows a spectacular home game vs OU with a horrible road game. Brown led this game for us in +/- FWIW, and yet Rick decided we didn't need him against Baylor in the conference tournament. If you recall, Johnson had a monster game points wise, and netted his career high. His defense in this game though was subpar, and the points our frontcourt gave up exceed the offensive production we got from them. And of course, another 35+ minutes from Bradley.
Here are the season +/- totals:
| Player (min) | Total +/- | +/- per min | +/- per game |
| Damion James (922) | +290 | +0.31 | +9.4 |
| Dexter Pittman (587) | +247 | +0.42 | +8.0 |
| J'Covan Brown (676) | +235 | +0.35 | +7.8 |
| Avery Bradley (898) | +233 | +0.26 | +7.5 |
| Jordan Hamilton (601) | +182 | +0.30 | +5.9 |
| Gary Johnson (715) | +181 | +0.25 | +5.8 |
| Justin Mason (543) | +168 | +0.31 | +5.6 |
| Dogus Balbay (581) | +168 | +0.29 | +6.2 |
| Alexis Wangmene (227) | +74 | +0.33 | +2.6 |
| Varez Ward (100) | +65 | +0.65 | +21.7 |
| Matt Hill (86) | +54 | +0.63 | +2.7 |
| Jai Lucas (209) | +32 | +0.15 | +1.6 |
| Shawn Williams (39) | +21 | +0.54 | +3.0 |
| Andrew Dick (10) | +8 | +0.80 | +1.6 |
| Clint Chapman (81) | +1 | +0.01 | +0.1 |
| Dean Melchionni (9) | 0 | 0.00 | 0.0 |
I guess the law of averages kicked in with Mason, as he's no longer leading the team in +/- per minute, though it's interesting it's identical to James and only .01 lower than Hamilton's. Despite all the struggles, Pittman leads the team easily, with Brown coming in 2nd.
This tells me an ideal current starting lineup based on who's played better recently would include 5 of these 6 players: Brown, Mason, Hamilton, James, Johnson, and Pittman. Based on the OU game, I'd go with Johnson over Mason though I'm going back and forth on that. What I am becoming more certain is we'd be better off with Bradley coming off the bench.

Thanks
I’m sure you put a lot of time into this stuff throughout the season and we appreciate it.
Heroic effort
Seriously, amazing dude. Season total numbers are interesting to peruse.
At this point, let’s start Andy Dick. Who’s with me?
You ain't hurt...
Rec'd. Great stuff.
I know it’s a small sample size, but this makes you wonder what might have been if Varez Ward stayed healthy all year.
Thanks for doing this all season.
Great stats you don’t find just anywhere.

Perseverence
When you started out, I must say I had to wonder whether you’d make it all the way. So a tip of the hat for sticking to it. In all, the data was interesting but not very revealing. The crazy lineup changes pretty much prevented us from making useful comparisons. As a statistical tool, I just get the feeling that there are some missing factors that would need to be combined with the +/- averages to show who really makes an impact. But this was a great start. Cheers!
