Baseball Takes On Rice -- 6:30 PM -- Open Thread

Texas plays its first true road game of the season tonight versus Rice at Reckling Park. That Austin Dicharry will be on the mound is pretty good evidence that this game is a whole lot more weekend series than midweek game. A 5-0 week helped Texas move to #2 in Baseball America's poll and they stay either 5 or 6 in the other major polls. After 4 weeks, Texas leads the nation in ERA at 1.89, and Taylor Jungmann leads the nation in strikeouts (43). Tonight's game is on paid internet TV through Rice's athletics website or Fox Sports SW if you're in Houston.

Texas: RHP Austin Dicharry (0-1, 3.06 ERA)
Rice: RHP Anthony Fazio (1-1, 8.53 ERA)

Tough loss

but we’ll bounce back. We really need one more strong pitcher in the rotation, here’s hoping Dicharry will pick it up soon

Baseball Losses Easy to Take

When I know we will be playing in the NC game in Omaha. Football loss and depression sets in.
