Is the big east worse then Texas

Looking like it.

"The best decision I ever made was coming to Texas," James said. "The second-best decision was coming back."

WV 38-27 at half

Entertaining first half. Morgan St. very quick and pesky, but WV athleticism too much.

Slaughterfest

Ugly second half, Morgan St. out of steam. 77-48 with 1:00 left

WV 77-50 Final

switching to Cornell over Temple 73-56 under 5:00.

I thought they would beat 'em..

..and it’s surprising to see the KenPom score. This is a big whiff.

by vy til i die on Mar 19, 2010 1:29 PM CDT up reply actions

I had Temple to the Sweet 16

Sienna/Purdue starting. Anyone think Sienna capable of upset? Not me.

by bfaut86 on Mar 19, 2010 1:34 PM CDT up reply actions

didn't they beat someone a couple of years ago?

I think they might be able to only b/c Purdue will have trouble scoring as much w/o Hummell

by vy til i die on Mar 19, 2010 1:37 PM CDT up reply actions

just saw they had success past 2 years..

…beat Vandy, and then Ohio State last year…maybe they can

I had Georgetown and Marquette going to the Sweet Sixteen

But my other three losses (Richmond, Texas, and Temple) were teams I had losing in the second round. But I had GU making it to the Elite Eight, so that hurts.

Still in first place in my pool, at least. Ah well. I really wish I had CBS here at the office!

Would love to see Oakland pull off this game with Pitt

But unfortunately it looks like Pitt has control at this point.

I am thankful for pitt winning by 9.5...for some odd reason.

God strike me down for saying this...

but i really like Mark Turgeon. There has been little to no “hiccup” in the transition from Gillespie to him. Helluva job he has done.

by kellen on Mar 19, 2010 4:44 PM CDT reply actions

No, you don't.

Yeah, I agree. At least respect. Just doesn’t choose his job’s wisely.

by Infield Elephant on Mar 19, 2010 5:21 PM CDT up reply actions

job's?

not sure how that apostrophe got in there.

by Infield Elephant on Mar 19, 2010 5:23 PM CDT up reply actions

How do you mean?

He’s taking the jobs that are offered to him…Wichita State andTexas A&M. Has he turned any down? Anyway, he is a tenacious SOB and I love that. And he’s taking mediocre recruiting classes and overachieving and I love that too.

by kellen on Mar 19, 2010 5:57 PM CDT up reply actions

actually

Turgeon is a pretty good recruiter

David Loubeau, Naji Hibbert, Khris Middleton, all were well thought of

by Beergut on Mar 19, 2010 5:59 PM CDT up reply actions

sorry, just saw this

No, I agree, he seems like a pretty good coach. Just saying bad choice in school at which he accepted his job. This was a lame attempt for me to insult Aggies, and I will say at this point, it has failed.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
