Living overseas

ESPN broadcast increases the chance of me seeing an opener for the first time in FOREVER…awesome news. I guess this is what happens a season after you make it to the “big stage”. Whatever it is, i’ll take it.

It's not even just overseas

It wasn’t possible to catch the opener here in MD when it was on PPV most recent years.

Let the Gilbert era begin!

Great news re not having to pay $40 to watch the season opener

Has anyone heard a reason why we’ve broken our pattern of home openers against Sun Belt scrubs? I’m fine with it, but it does seem at odds with our generally conservative manner of scheduling OOCs.

Because CUSA gets UT more street cred ;)

Word.

Stumpy: It's called the '80s. Ford was president, Nixon was in the White House, and FDR was running this country into the ground.

We can make great financial guarantees.

That’s a testament to stadium expansion and filling the seats regularly. More income, more to spend on paying better-quality opponents to visit Austin.

Wyoming, Rice, UTEP, C.Florida, BYU (on the 2011 sked) are a step up from N. Texas, La.- (Monroe and Lafayette), N.M. State. Money talks.

The scheduling of this is great!

It gets kids in Houston an easy chance to see Texas steamroll. Very crucial for Houston area 2012 and 2013 kids who may want to have a future playing Div 1 football. This gives them a chance they wouldn’t normally have with tickets that are easy to come by and much cheaper than making a trip to DKR.

Not going to mind watching a season opener in an air-conditioned stadium!

Any update on when they’ll be installing the Mack Brown Retractable Roof at DKR?

I've been fuelin' my dreams eatin' greens and beans.

I've been wondering what they'd name after Mack when he retires

And I’m sure you’ve nailed it.

New name

Mack Brown Retractable Roof Stadium at Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Complex.

Naturally, we call it MBRRSDKRTMC for short.

Road Trip!

I’m in Austin, but my immediate family is in Houston. I hope tickets are cheap, I may want to grab 5 or 6.
