Friday Baseball Train Wreck; Saturday Open Thread
Taylor Jungmann did not have his best outing in Lubbock, as the Raiders managed to get the ball up into the wind more often than the Longhorns did for a 12-5 victory. That's not meant to take any credit away from Tech; both teams had the benefit of the conditions while at the plate, and Texas failed to take advantage. Tech jumped out to a 5-0 lead through 2 innings and never looked back.
The series resumes tonight at 6:30 PM, pushed back because of continuing winds. Cole Green will take the hill and try to get Texas back on track against Tech righty Bobby Doran.

I couldn’t make the game as my son had one of his own at the same time, just a few blocks away, and I can attest: the winds were brutal. Around 7pm, we had gusts of 45 mph throwing that sweet Lubbock mix of red dirt and sorghum in our faces, accompanied by the soothing aroma you can only get from cow shit and oil. A ball can get caught and sail over the fence or drop straight down. Rough conditions, to say the least.
Anyhow, another little game today, then we’ll be there tomorrow at noon. Hook ’em.

TJ had issues keeping the ball down in the zone
Against a strong wind, that’s nearly a death wish. Hopefully Cole can keep it down and our guys can string along some offense to right this ship. Glad to see Keyes get some good swings, not happy with Rowe.
