Texas Takes on Texas State -- 6:05 PM
[UPDATE: Horns score 3 in the bottom of the 8th for a 4-3 victory. Andrew McKirahan gets the win by getting one out. Remember the name Paul Montalbano, he's the hero tonight and will be taking somebody's job very soon]
Texas returns home from a semi-successful trip to Houston for a midweek game with nearby Texas State at UFCUDFF. Austin Dicharry will be on the mound for the Horns to make his first midweek start. It's about this time of year that we'd expect to see some newbies getting more game experience in this midweek games, so possibly look for Paul Montalbano and Cohl Walla tonight. Both outfielders have been solid in limited game time this season and could threaten some of the slumping players' starting jobs.

Starting lineup for Texas
Shepherd – 1B
Loy – SS
Rupp – C
Moldenhauer – DH
Keyes – RF
Ky. Lusson – LF
Ke. Lusson – 3B
Rowe – CF
Etier – 2B
Kinda disappointed that Montalbano didn't get the start
Only to finally hear Keith try to pronounce his name
Dicharry looks good
May be a quick game. 6 in a row retired.
I like this game
Spent a year at UTSA then 2 at SWTSU (now texas state), and then 7 at The University. So I love watching the bobcats play the big kids.
Fly to center
Rowe strikes out, Etier gets on on an E6, steals second, wild pitch sends him to third, Tant Ks
2-0 through 5, Texas with one real hit
These are suppose to be tune up games
I know it’s still early in the season but were letting these smaller schools get to us, while we keep the bigger guys in check i.e Rice and Stanford
I wish we had Brandon Belt this year, I think it would of helped. I could of sworn he was a Junior last year
Well, looking on the bright side
First 14 games last season: 1 run or fewer 4 times
This season just twice
Dicharry has thrown a total of 14 pitches the last 3 innings
Offense could use similar efficiency.
May have to move Shepherd back over there
Keyes to 1st?
Right on Lusson!
Stumpy: It's called the '80s. Ford was president, Nixon was in the White House, and FDR was running this country into the ground.
