The Sports Science of Ndamukong Suh
I think Gerald McCoy is a fine player and all, but after watching the both of them play quite a bit this past year, I've never quite understood how people have him ranked over Suh. Whatever; I'm not a draft analyst or scout.

Just guessing
I think the pro scouts see more upside, a higher ceiling, for McCoy. He’s younger, by a year and maybe two.
I’m with you: Suh would be my pick. Admittedly, I don’t know a lot about McCoy’s character/personality, but Suh is what you want as a leader and role model, beyond his on-field skill.
Poor Crash Test Dummy QB
Stumpy: It's called the '80s. Ford was president, Nixon was in the White House, and FDR was running this country into the ground. I was bummin' in a hole-in-the-wall town in what is now called "Utah".
Suh is capable of dominance, but doesn't perform as consistent as McCoy
people have been questioning his “motor”

To go along with this
I wonder what the perception is of McCoy doing this consistently over a couple of years and Suh having one great season.

Not that I know if this happened to him all the time but
in the Big 12 championship, the game that made him into a national deity, Suh was pancaked by Huey on Texas’ TD & another big play inside the 20 to set up a FG. The announcers conveniently skipped over a lot of plays where he was simply blocked out. Yeah, I was looking for a silver lining while watching the game DVR.
Hard to pick between Suh & McCoy. They’re both gonna be very reliable pros, IMO.
