Cory Joseph to Texas
[Update]: What was already a fantastic recruiting day just got a whole lot better with the announcement from Cory Joseph. Texas regained some momentum in basketball recruiting and solidified the lead guard position until the arrival of Myck Kabongo. The three lifelong friends Cory Joseph, Kabongo, and 2010 commit Tristan Thompson will play basketball in college much like they have throughout their lives -- together. --GoBR--
It is official. Jason Suchomel has confirmed it over on OB ($)
This is great news for the horns. Popular belief is that Avery Bradley is going to officially make the jump. This news makes that loss a little easier to take. A long with that it seems that Texas would get one or the other. Joseph is more of the prototypical point guard and seems to be the perfect fit for the Texas screen offense.
Will keep this updated as more info comes in.

Thanks for the bump GoBR
:)
I am pretty pumped about this.
"The best decision I ever made was coming to Texas," James said. "The second-best decision was coming back."
Recruiting 6-7 F Marcus Thornton from Hotlanta.
Athletic 4 with some face-up ability and developing jump shot. Plays hard, rebounds.

Are we not already set at the F position with Tristan Thompson?
and 6’7" is not a center
Not sure if there are any good centers left in 2010.
Going after Christmas in 2011. Thornton and Thompson could play together and there are plenty of available minutes on the interior with James and Pittman leaving.

Centers Rarely exist in College Ball
Id rather have two great forwards than a center…
Especially in Barnes style of play, I don’t think a center is a huge need
You can find centers overseas

Awesome
His highlight film shows that he’s a great shooter that can penetrate.
I’m assuming Corey and J’Covan will play PG together? Their games seem pretty similar.
Finally. Hook 'em Horns Cory Joseph.
This is HUGE for us for 2010 and beyond.

Excellent news
Big summer question is the deveopment of J’Covan on-ball. Need him to emerge a mature, steady director for us. Joseph and Hamilton will create space for us on offense, and we can be a really interesting quick team with versatility and the ability to get out and press and run. Too bad Kabongo’s not here until 2011.
You ain't hurt...
You think J'Covan's the point guard?
I would think that Cory Joseph would play point and J’Covan would play on the wing.. but then again, I’ve only seen Joseph play twice.

Mixed duties
None are true points, really, but J’Covan’s got the most potential to plan primary on-ball of the three starting guards. Joseph can handle reasonably well, and uses the bounce well to put himself in position to score, but he’s not a penetrate-and-distribute kind of handler.

guys
I signed on to make this one post. For those of you that post on OBs, I would appreciate it if you mention that on October 21,shausnters sent me an email that Cory was going to commit to Texas.
Since he has caught some heat in the past, he should get some props on Cory…
Thanks in advance…

Fantastic
Somebody really needs to update the Recruiting Spotlight (right side of main page). There are no 2010 hoops recruits listed.
