Welcome, Quincy

Should wrap up DT . . . two good ones now committed.

Bring in a DE, a CB and a stud RB, then the other schools can take whoever they like!!!!

if their names rhyme with

flegarty and flesterman i don’t see why not

You Are 100% Right

No way Mack wouldn’t sell the farm to get those 2, especially if all he has to do is cut loose a second RB.

Nice

He was the one that was the most talented of the two we had offers out to. The only question is will this affect our status with Malcolm Brown now that Marquis Anderson’s offer is going to be off the table.

good thing they’re the same person and all… otherwise i wouldn’t be absolutely sure this was an identical situation.

by Displaced Longhorn on Apr 5, 2010 9:10 PM CDT up reply actions

it's an example of a situation that is similar to the one at Steele in SA

Agreed

As these things go, it hasn’t sounded like Anderson and Brown are particularly connected in their decision-making at this point, but completely agree about Russell being the more talented of the two — as soon as I saw film on both of them, Russell easily jumped out as the player with a better frame and more upside.

Was he at the spring game?

Maybe seeing such a powerhouse program with a lack of depth at this position up close was a deciding factor for him.

by Jhal2315 on Apr 5, 2010 7:36 PM CDT reply actions

I believe he was.

excited

but gossh I wish a running back would committ NOW….I really went malcolm brown if we don’t get him gosh its gonna stink in my opinion

by Hawk81584 on Apr 5, 2010 7:47 PM CDT via mobile reply actions

there’s still some good RB besides malcolm, but obviously he’s the #1 choice

by Displaced Longhorn on Apr 5, 2010 9:11 PM CDT up reply actions

GoBR - Really Likes Brandon Williams as Well

He may de-commit Baylor if we miss out on Brown.

by realmccoy on Apr 5, 2010 10:42 PM CDT up reply actions

He is still my favorite

Would love to see him in Burnt Orange.

Now we have to stand guard and keep everyone away

Our recruiting success has been amazing and the GG era is going to be fun to watch. How can a top RB not be on this train?

by Wrangler86 on Apr 5, 2010 9:55 PM CDT up reply actions

This is shaping up a lot like

the last 2 years except it just gets earlier and earlier.

We get the bulk of our commits at Junior day(s)….. the next 8-9 straggle forward throughout Spring and summer…..we are pretty much done before anyone else starts, and we concentrate on the 2 or 3 Five-Star guys that we had targeted and knew would take their time.

4 or 5 more I bet.

Video and another video

Not positive but I’m pretty sure this is his junior yr film. He wears 65. Impressive athleticism for his size. The DT talent that Texas brings in continues to be silly.

by andmyster on Apr 6, 2010 1:00 AM CDT reply actions

The talent is apparent

But he’ll need some coaching up (like roughly 100% of high school DT’s). The first thing I notice is how upright he comes out of his stance.

We have the best coach in Muschamp. He'll either figure it out or he won't play.

Quincy Russell de-commits already?

Article here. Please tell me this isn’t true. Came across this on the shaggybevo.

Found the same thing.

Story is now on Orangebloods as well.

No doubt. Sounds like a classic case of buyers remorse.

by NeTexHorn on Apr 6, 2010 8:01 PM CDT up reply actions

Move on I say....

Decommits drive me nuts. I don’t like even contemplating looking at decommits from other schools. If you can’t be a man and make a decision and stick with it then there are 1000 other kids out there that can.
