Oversigning
Not sure if you all have seen this new site.

Interesting research by a guy who looks at programs that make it a point to oversign recruits and then cut fringe players and injured vetrans. After spending some time on the site, I am so glad Mack Brown is our coach. Texas is one of the many schools that does not oversign, and we have seen Mack honor scholarships for students that are either injured or cannot play for any other reason.

I would expect nothing less
They’ll call us crybabies, we’ll call them dirty dogs, and the sun will rise again tomorrow.
It is a fun, if spirited, rivalry. And yes, we want a rematch.
You ain't hurt...
Damn...tried to look it up but the server seems to have exceeded it's bandwidth nt.whills
We're Texas...and you're NOT
I think what he is trying to do is noble
but some of that data is misleading, looking at Kansas State in particular.
From 2006-08, they signed 97 players, which looks really bad, until you consider that they delve heavily into the juco ranks. In 2006, they signed 30 players, but 12 of them were jucos. That means in the 2008 class, they’d have 12 positions open on their roster. In 2007, they signed 34 players, 7 of which were jucos. The 2008 class had 33 signees, but 20 of them were jucos. If all of those 20 jucos played at Kansas State the last two seasons, K-State had 20 spots to fill on their roster in the ‘10 class. They signed 17 players in the 2010 class. They’re not oversigning.
They need to delve a little deeper, and differentiate between schools who are oversigning and schools who are just turning over their roster every two years b/c of a commitment to recruiting jucos.
What's happening to all the players that K-State does sign?
Are they signing guys that end up not qualifying or getting dismissed later for academic ineligible or what? Something is happening to them that needs to be reviewed also.
QB Star Jackson
Barriers are hard to break and Star Jackson at Alabama had a tough climb and not just because of the competition.
I had to take one of my in-laws to task a while back over the holidays. Talk about awkard.
He didn’t think that Star Jackson could lead the Tide because of his skin color. VY made the issue pretty easy for me to respond and make him look stupid—which he obviously is. We were in his house and all the kids were in the room, but I wasn’t about to sit back and let that racist b.s. pass as tolerable. His wife heard my response and quickly chewed him out when the N word came out. This was said in a roomful of well educated upper middle class folks in Birmingham and I was the only one to take him to task. So, I wonder how prevalant that nonsense is and how much pressure was on Star Jackson. Those are two really good QBs that AL got and so his competition was very tough. I wish him the best of luck.
I do think that AL definitely pushes kids out. I think OU does also—look at what OU did to Jarrett Lake. I’m proud of how Texas and Coach Brown recruit with integrity. tOSU’s numbers also shows how they keep their word too.
does your in-law know who Andrew Zow is?
Last time I checked, he was the all-time leading passer for Alabama, and I think he even won the SEC one year, but I’m not sure on that one.
Also tell your in-law to look up Walter Lewis
A QB for Bama in the early 80s. And black. And a solid player.
re: Star Jackson
I saw on the ESPN scroll that he’s transferring to Georgia State. Sad
