2010 NBA Mock Draft, Version 1.0 - Ridiculous Upside
Ridiculous Upside, SBN's outstanding blog covering NBA prospects, takes a crack at a first 2010 NBA Mock Draft, sending Avery Bradley (#24) to the Hawks, Damion James (#27) to the Nets, and Dexter Pittman (#45) to Minnesota. There's a good conversation going over there in the comments if you want to talk prospects.

According to ESPN Insiders...
He is polarizing amongst GMs meaning he could go mid first round to sliding to the second round. The concern is not that he gets drafted, its is he ready.
The NBA is way different than the NFL. In the NFL, College players are silly to turn around BIG guaranteed money of getting drafted early as well as development is easier with BIGGER rosters to provide more support.
However in the NBA, the guaranteed money is not as great and several first round picks find themselves out of the league WITHIN A YEAR OR TWO of being drafted!!!
The NBA/College analyst talked much more about the 2nd CONTRACT in the NBA being the most important as there CBA is much different than the NFL where Rookies get PAID better than a lot of Vets.
Avery could easily flounder in the League without a Polished game. His athleticism isnt going to fade, but he NEED a more rounded Offensive game (Shooting %, AST to TO) to last in the League!
UT b-ball compared to ou football
UT b-ball and ou football are sending a hand full of first rounders into the pros and both teams were horrible last year. I know each team had injuries, but you would think if they were that good they could over come the injuries (more so in b-ball than football).
Avery
Avery should come back because he needs the time to develop both his bball skills and physical presence. There are many things great about Avery like his basketball IQ, defense, athleticism, and he does have a big upside. But he also has a very limited offensive game which revolves around a mid-range pull-up jumper. He needs to work on being a slasher in the paint and getting fouls because good scorers get to the line (but you have to make them – Avery was like in the 60% FT range). I’d like to see him be able to hit the three on a consistent basis, use a step-back jumper, and use his left-hand effectively. Im a huge Avery fan but I can’t argue the fact that he tended to disappear during big games offensively. But he was just a freshman, so of course he has many things to work on. I think another year in college could make him a 10-15 pick instead of 20-30 this year.
