A look at the future of the point guard position at Texas -- 2011 point guard Myck Kabongo, lifelong friend of Tristan Thompson and Cory Joseph. Known as a distributor his first two seasons at St. Benedict's, as a junior Kabongo expanded his game to become a primary scorer.

Yes please
It’s going to be fun to see the Horns in 2011 if Joseph and Thompson stick around to play with Myck. Then again, I was breathless over the possibility of Bradley/Hamilton playing with Dame-o so that tempers my excitement a bit…
…The life of a fan who follows a Barnes team I suppose.
Two teams can play each other head-to-head, and sportswriters still have to vote who they think is better.

Disgusting
Love his control both of his body and of the ball (which is like a yo-yo on his hand), and his vision, which you just can’t teach. Wish he were coming this fall…
You ain't hurt...
I see the same good things as you guys but have to call out
he lacks vertical explosiveness and his penchant for flashy passes will probably get him in Barnes’ dog house at some point. His shooting stroke and his game look alot like JCovan’s…can penetrate at will but has to make some low percentage finishes due to limited explosiveness. Hopefully he is working on some plyo training this year.
Agree but Disagree
Barnes does not seem to me to dislike flashy passes. Last year with J’Covan appeared to be more about poor decision making not the “style” of the pass. J’Covan often had the right idea but lacked the execution, probably from having to sit out from basketball for a year and half or so.
If Myck can show a solid feel for the game, I think Rick will give him a similar leash to what TJ and DJ got. But if you go for the passes and miss a-la J’Covan then he will find himself in a similar spot.
Ok..I need to calm down...
I remember getting super excited about videos of Jai Lucas too.
That's nice but...
The lack of any free throw highlights is making me a little worried.
Can't find any stats on Maxpreps
Thanks a lot, Danny Hurley. In a cursory search, didn’t find anything else either, but against top prospect Kyrie Irving and St. Patrick’s several months ago, Kabongo hit 4-4 late to win that game.

Thanks
I don’t know if it’s the players or the system but poor free throw shooting, as we all know, will lose games for us. There are good free throw shooting teams out there. What do they do that we don’t do?
