Thanks for the post. Feels kind of like reading a script at this point.

Now it's official.

Actually

Wouldn’t this make it more likely for Baylor to come. All the predictions I saw had Texas, Tech, A&M, OU and Oklahoma State joining which would make 16, If CU joins, that leaves the PAC-10 short one at 17 from equillibrium. No one would choose Baylor on purpose for money reasons, but if it was Texas and Baylor or nothing, I’m not surprised they could choose to take Baylor as well.

Correct my errors if I’m wrong.

What do we do if somehow Colt McCoy ends up on an NFL team starting against Vince Young?

I'm not sure that I follow...

The PAC-10 has 10 teams now, soon to be 11 with Colorado’s invite acceptance.

Texas, Tech, A&M, OU, and OSU = 5

That brings that PAC-10 to 16 teams, and no room for Baylor. I think Colorado and the PAC-10 saw the writing on the wall in Texas and took preemptive action to force the Texas legislature to abandon Baylor.

Ah

Well never mind my lack of ability to count

Currently: Ten teams. Add CU = 11. UT, A&M, Tech, OSU, ou = 5. 5+11 = 16.

The rumors were it was those 5 and either CU or Baylor. CU is in, so Baylor is all but certainly out.

Sorry for the confusion. Must have gotten the number from an A&M grad.

Texas vs. Colorado

I for one am excited that CU will be a part of the Pac 10 over Baylor. This will mean that when UT joins, then Texas will play in boulder every other year instead of every 4 years. Love having Texas play here in Colorado! Just wish we could get UT to play Air Force every now and then.

Which season?

Had anyone seen a word of when the move is happening? 2011? Maybe we’ll get the full details at the press conference tomorrow.

WOW

easy:

If nebraska leaves, just pick up BYU and UTAH

or TCU and New Mexico

Playing a november game at washington or washington state is gonna suck.
I hope the big 12 stays together and Colorado gets everything they deserve. Its not like they had an outstanding athletic program to begin with anyway

No but Washingtons playing a September game here

is outstanding!

Stumpy: It's called the '80s. Ford was president, Nixon was in the White House, and FDR was running this country into the ground. I was bummin' in a hole-in-the-wall town in what is now called "Utah".

According to Chip Brown @ OB

“Sources said the six Big 12 schools would begin participating in the expanded Pac-10 beginning in 2012. That should make for an incredibly uncomfortable next two football and basketball seasons with the schools who could be left behind.”

However, I did read somewhere else (ESPN maybe?) that the Big 12 could just elect to dissolve and the Big 12 would split in 2011.

I think dissolving after the 2010-11 school year (next May) is a pretty good bet

Lotta hard feelings . . . Baylor and the four Big 12 North teams not headed to the Pac-10 or Big Ten have to be really scrambling — and assessing blame.

Wonder how viable a Moutain West merger with Mizzou and the two Kansas schools would be . . . that’s 12 teams (not counting the rumored Boise State switch; Baylor or Iowa State) . . . Mtn. West alread stretches from San Diego to Fort Worth

New MWC

4 Former North Big 12 Schools and Baylor + Boise St. = New MWC with a BCS Bid in place of the Old Big12
