Am I the only one not happy with going to the Pac-10?

This has nothing to do with feeling like the Pac-10 is "superior" or that Texas will lose more games. It has nothing to do with our baseball team now matching up with the likes of AZ St and USC. And it has nothing to do with the stiffer swimming and softball competition. It also has nothing to do with Texas' (and the South's) dominance in the Big 12 that we have now.

I just don't want to be in the Pac-10 or the SEC or the Big 10. If keeping the Big 12 afloat wasn't an option, I almost think I would rather be an Independent. (As if  my vote counts for jack-squat.) (Maybe they can form a SWC, Part II?? Arkansas can go to hell, forget SMU - add TCU, Utah, convince AZ and AZ St to leave the Pac-10........)

I don't remember being depressed at the closure of the SWC - I was actually looking forward to the Big 12.

Finally, if these new conferences aren't going to help bring about a playoff, then who the hell cares? I'm not saying teams like Boise, etc can/could hang with the really big boys - year in, year out - but I think they deserve a shot. Let's see what they can do. But any chance of that happening AT ALL is officially laid to rest - it ain't ever, EVER happining now.

I still say the "average" fan is now screwed. Texas will be fine, OU will be fine, but how many Tech fans are traveling to Wash St? Or vice versa. Yea, yea (t.v.) money is the king. I just think the average fan is now relegated to watching on t.v. I sure as hell can't afford to make 2 trips out west every year (for football). At least in the Big 12, the trips were more manageable. I actually have no interest....none, of heading out west for a road game.
