So early reports are that the Big 10 (the original Midwest Big 10, not the revamped/reduced Big 12) is proposing the conference championship game.....

....be held in Detroit or Indianapolis. Shhh......don't tell Dr. Tom because they just got his blood pressure and cholesterol back within acceptable levels. I can't help but chuckle since Dr. Tom and Neb was upset with the Big 12 CG taking place in Jerry World.

This is more of a rhetorical question, but what are their options?? Minneapolis? The Gophers have their own stadium now, but I think the MetroDome still exists. Iowa City?? Uh, okay that was a joke.

Otherwise there aren't any "western" options to appease the Huskers. Would the Big 10 avoid KC and St Louis since it's not Big 10 country or would they jump at the chance to be in a market outside their region?!?  Soldier Field in Chicago...seriously freezing their butts off?!?  The drive from Lincoln to Chicago is roughly 8 hours and the drive from Lincoln to Dallas is 9 1/2 or 10. (Mpls is 6 1/2 to 7.)

So unless they can squeeze KC  (or St Louis) into the mix, Neb is screwed when it comes to the CG - they gained nothing in terms of the CG location (maybe this was just an excuse they used?!?). Like I said, I couldn't resist after I read about Detroit and Indy.
